What do you think of Raglan Road?

We love Raglan Road, especially later in the evening when the band plays. Our food experiences have been pretty good - their appetizer selection is nice and tasty. We like the dalkey duo, which is a bunch of batter-dipped little sausages that are deep fried and served with spicy mustard. YUM!!

We like their drink selection too - good beers on tap, fair number of specialty drinks, and good scotch / whiskey selection.

And if you're in the mood for dessert the bread and butter pudding can't be beat!

I loved it! Drunken Chicken appetizer, with fish n' chips (i thought it was good) and shepards pie. The food is great and the entertainment/atmosphere is even better! :wizard:

My DH and I really enjoy Raglan Road. We've been there a few times. My DH especially loves the Guinness meatball entree. The atmosphere is great and we love the music and guests singing together in the evenings. We've also been there for an early dinner with my parents and had a nice time as well. It's no California Grill, but it's not Applebee's either.

I am going to try to post again (I've tried twice and lost my post) So, we went Wednesday night and over all it was very good.

My steak was very good but the onions that came with it were undercooked and I didn't like the mashed potatoes. We got the appetizer with the Scallops, Sausage, Ribs and chicken. The scallops, sausage and ribs were excellant. Others in my party had Mussels, the goat cheese dish and Shepard's pie. They all said they were good. DD didn't care for her MAC and Cheese as it was too garlicly for her tastes.

When dessert came neither of the children wanted sweets. We offered to pay OOP for fruit. They brought each of the children a wonderul bowl of fruit and did not charge us extra for it.

DD has started Irish Dance lessons this past year so she loved the dancer. We all love Irish music so it was fun to sing along.

This is a definite keeper for us and we hope to go back on our next trip.

While we enjoyed the music and dancing the food was horrid!

We just returned from our trip last night. We ate here on arrival night. It was an ok meal. I got the Not Bleedin' Chowder and it was very good. DH got a steak which was ordered medium. It came out rare. I took a bite and it was a good rare steak which is the way I like it but not him. I got the Bailey's Creme Brulee and was extremely disappointed. DH had the Trifile Sinful which was very good. Yes it was good but not to die for good. The music and entertainment was wonderful.

One of our favs. Though last time we ended up eating at WPC 3 times. We really liked this one too.

Here's some pix to help you decide.

Ger's Bread 'n Butter ( I got 2 small cups-they were out of the bigger one)

Thank you for posting photos of my favorite meal!

We LOVED it. My DS15 tried Shepherd's Pie for the first time and loved it. My DH had some sort of Chicken Pie which he loved. I had a special with had fish wrapped around scallops which was wonderful!!! DS13 had chicken. He is extremely picky and he really liked it as well. MY DS15 is now a fan of bread pudding, too. This has become one of our favorite restaurants. The atmosphere was great, too. Waiter's name was Vinnie and he was fantastic as well.

We ate there last year. It was our last ADR. By then we were really sick of food and the heat. Went in Sept for free dinning and just about got heat stroke! It was okay, but I think the fact that we really were not hungry had a little bit to do with it. The wait staff was great and the food was good, but just could not get into it . Give it a try. You won't know until you do.

Some of the dishes were outstanding, while others were disappointing. The shepherd's pie was out-of-this-world (usually, I don't care for it), the fish 'n chips was not good (usually my favorite). If you want fish 'n chips, I recommend Rose & Crown instead of RR. Ger's bread and butter pudding is to-die-for!!!

Everything else we ordered was nonmemorable. Not great, but nothing stands out in my mind as horrible, either.

As with any restaurant, you have to try it for yourself to see what you think.

I agree about the fish and chips - I was quite disappointed. My order was barely lukewarm, and the batter was kind of doughy.

We did have some yummy sausage-type things (I think they were an appetizer). They're miniature sausages dipped in batter, then fried (like a corn dog nugget). They were quite good.

I agree with this poster - with any restaurant, some people will like it, and some won't. Most are worth a try - you might love it!

We aren't fans. When we went, none of the people in our party enjoyed the food at all. The music and dancing were great, but the food not so much.

Ditto here - it was the most disappointing meal all week. We wandered over there on Wednesday night (our ressies were on Thursday) and ended up sitting at the bar and having a few appetizers. The apps were great; beer was excellent; and the entertainment was fabulous.

The next night, we went for our ressies. The dinner was not memorable at all and we were crammed way in the back of the dining room no where near the bar. The entertainment never did arrive, so we left and went across the way to the Paradiso 37 and had a wonderful time!

My dh and I went to Raglan Road for our night out sans kiddos last Jan. I had scheduled us to be there about an hour before the band was supposed to start. Either I got the time wrong or the band started early and they were LOUD! My dh and I literally could not talk to each other across the table. I enjoyed the music, but wished it wasn't rattling the floorboards.

Our food was ok. I liked the Dalkey Duo. I wasn't so fond of my entree, which I think was called Kevin's ham. My dh probably got some sort of sausage dish and I don't remember him having any complaints about it. We didn't get dessert.

I probably would give it another shot, but not anytime soon.
