What do you think of Raglan Road?

Hi everyone! My Christmas trip is only a week away and I can hardly wait! The only ADR I made that I didn't know much about is Raglan Road. Have any of you tried it? Is it good or did I make a mistake?

Some of the dishes were outstanding, while others were disappointing. The shepherd's pie was out-of-this-world (usually, I don't care for it), the fish 'n chips was not good (usually my favorite). If you want fish 'n chips, I recommend Rose & Crown instead of RR. Ger's bread and butter pudding is to-die-for!!!

Everything else we ordered was nonmemorable. Not great, but nothing stands out in my mind as horrible, either.

As with any restaurant, you have to try it for yourself to see what you think.

We will be there in about 3 hours so I'll make sure to get on after dinner and let you know. We are going with a couple who have been to Ireland many times so it will be interesting to see their take on it.:)

We loved RR every time we have gone there.
The desserts are especially good!!!
And if your there later in the evening the irish entertainment is fantastic!!!
Enjoy!

Not a fan.
I have access to quality Irish food and entertainment so Raglan Road was not for me.

The one recommendation I have if you go there is avoid any of the fried foods.
They all smell like the fish and it is very off putting what you are having a battered sausage that smells like fish.

I have always liked it - I became a fan of some of the appetizers over the entrees though, and the bread pudding. I have not been back there since the PI clubs closed.

My husband and I both loved RR. We plan on eating there again when we're there in 12/10!

LOVED IT!! This was our favorite meal last fall...the salmon was the best dish of the whole trip and the Bread Pudding....YUMMY!!!:lovestruc

We have been to Raglan Road many times over the years. We always enjoy the Scallop Forest appetizer, and the Fish&Chips and It's Not Bleedin' Chowder entrees. We also like Kevin's ham. Great restaurant, we would reccomend it!:goodvibes

I regret that I didn't make plans to dine at Raglan Road for my upcoming trip. We went for the first time a couple years ago and were pleasantly surprised by how well we liked it. Enjoy your meal, and your trip! You must be so excited.

Skip dinner, but go for dessert. Like everyone else said, the bread pudding is out of this world....... Mmmm. Bread Pudding.

We aren't fans. When we went, none of the people in our party enjoyed the food at all. The music and dancing were great, but the food not so much.

I LOVE Raglan Road. I usually get the Guinness ribs, which I think is on the appetizer menu, and a side of colcannon.

For dessert, the bread and butter pudding is the best I've ever tasted.

I would go there just to have the FORKS OF SCALLOPS appetizer. I don't like scallops usually, but, WOW, these were good. They bring a container with forks facing up and on each fork is a GINORMOUS scallop. They are really yummy. The rest of the food was o.k. The atmosphere was fun!

When we ate there they had been open only a day or two. The service was good & very friendly, but the food was meh. I doubt I'd be able to convince DW to return.

One of our favs. Though last time we ended up eating at WPC 3 times. We really liked this one too.

Here's some pix to help you decide.

Ger's Bread 'n Butter ( I got 2 small cups-they were out of the bigger one)

I've eaten there several times and have yet to find an entree that I'd care to repeat. They were OK, but only OK. However, I love their goat cheese appetizer and their Ger's bread pudding. I'll go just for those. One thing I don't like, is that Rose & Crown has made so many of their best appetizers, as appetizers for two, so a solo diner can not get them on the DDP.

DH and I went for lunch last March and loved it. I had the lobster salad sandwich which was great--DH had the Stout Sausage and practically licked his plate. We both liked the chips, too. :thumbsup2
