What do you think of Katie Couric?

I switch between The Today Show and GMA - used to like Katie...Can't stand her now.

I was thinking of writing this thread on Monday after watching her...She is such a silver spooned, hoity toity, spoiled namby paby, PHONEY she makes me gag.

She truly doesn't appreciate the fact that she has achieved fame and financial glory without really having any discernable talent...Of course there are so many of these in our society it is mind numbing.

I used to dislike Matt, while thinking Katie was mildly cutsie, but I now have a modicom of respect for Matt's work and absolutely loathe Ms. Couric.

I don't think I've ever seen more that 5 minutes of her. Guess I'll have to check it out. I love a "train wreck".

I think she is terrific! I think she is very pretty, intelligent and very natural. She can be very serious when she has to be and she can have a great time on the show as well. And she gets to spend an awful lot of time with Matt Lauer , course that is the one thing that I do NOT like about her!

I'm in the boat that I don't NOT like her nor do I like her. She just doesn't do it for it. However, I got the impression that she did very well in high school (academically), was popular, involved, and a good student. She went on to attend UVA which is probably the best college in the state of Virginia and rank pretty well nationally. I also heard she was an outstanding student there. So what makes her have no "discernable talent." What kind of talent do you need to be a news anchor/personality--singing, dancing, great legs???

I actually have never like her. I have issues with her politics and her using her fame and her job to espouse her beliefs. Also, you don't get to where she is by being totally upfront and honest with people or being totally nice. I just don't feel she's genuine in her "concern" for anyone. It seems very forced. I also don't know anyone who really likes her.

She does not strike me as being overly bright. She talks more when interviewing someone than her subject does. She does a horrible job of hiding her liberal biases. She is way to cutesy for my tastes.

She may be a nice person on a personal level, but I don't like her at all as a journalist or morning show host.

The only thing that really bugs me about Katie Couric is her terrible posture. I hate watching her because she always seems to be hunched over or leaning forward or to the side. She looks like a creepy spider when she does that.

I like her okay. I think she's at a strange point in her career. She's in her late 40's and still very pretty. But i get the impression she's used to being able to flirt with guys she's interviewing, and sometimes it diminishes her credibility, imho. She needs to become more dignified. P.S. If I see one more camera shot of her legs instead of the person she's interviewing, I'll scream.

I never watch Today. Give me Diane Sawyer, Charlie Gibson, Robin Roberts, and Tony Perkins anyday. They all seem to genuinely like each other and they all work so well together. Nothing seems forced at all.

I'm 24. I knew I was a senior in college, but I guess, like you, I'm an old fogey 'cause I watch GMA.
