Just wondering what the veterans think of early/mid Sept (specifically 10-14) as a time to visit DLP including things like
  • Weather
  • Attraction availability (i.e. closures etc.)
  • Crowd levels

Thanks!

MTA: I have looked at the schedule and am aware of what is on in August vs. Sept. and what attractions are closed. Just asking the above in terms of how you felt it impacted your visit/quality of the experience, being there at a time when less was going on overall.

We went last Sep (20-24th) and were expecting fairish weather when in fact we got glorous sunshine. The crowds were low . Only thing we queued longer than 10 minutes for was Dumbo !(on the Friday afternoon) and dinner at Annetes diner. We went Tues- Sat but never went on much on the Sat as the queues were massive in comparison (around 55 mins for Space Mountain 2).I thought it was a great time to visit and would recommend it. We're going back a little later this year (first week in Oct) so DD can have her birthday there.

If you haven't visited DLRP before then I think this would be a good time to visit, crowds should be low and the weather still pleasant, so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the resort at your leisure, I don't know if you might find 5 days too much though.
I would say one day for WDS and two days for Disneyland Park is enough to cover everything.
Having said that we started with a 3 night trip, progressed to a 4 night and then last time 5 nights, we do all the rides several times over and nobody complains apart from DH. Personally I do like to visit when there is some sort of event going on, we've done Halloween and Kids Carnival, there is something different about the atmosphere and we definately saw more characters around the park during our last 2 visits than at the first one, I don't know if that's just coincidence or whether there are less about at quieter times :confused3
I noticed in your other post that your looking at the NPB we stayed there in March and I absolutely loved it, it's a very beautiful if somewhat very large hotel. :goodvibes

I went last September for our 1st visit and it was excellent, both weather and crowd wise. The longest we waited was about 15 minutes for Dumbo however everything else was walk on.
When I went back the weekend before Christmas I was amazed by how much we got done compared to December as the crowds were very big. I would definitely recommend September. There is a few things closed however it did not effect are enjoyment.

Where can i find a list of things that will be closed for september?

Thanks for the help.

Okay i found the information i was looking for.

Not to much shut for September at the moment which is good. :cool1:

Hi Karen, welcome to the DIS! :welcome:

we are going in september this year (14-18) and i know that the Lion King show is not supposed to be open which I'm a bit sad about and other than that most things are open, but there are no special events at that time eg. fireworks, special parades etc. We are there thurs to mon and i know that the sat and sun will be a lot busier, so I'm planing on getting the disneyland park done on the thurs and fri whilst it's quiet then tackling the studios on the saturday when hopefully the crowds will be in the DLP. Sunday is our day to chill and do what we still need to do/re-do

I have been at mid- end September and the weather was still good. I went a week later and the weather was still good but I found myself tackling the parks when schools in both the Uk and in France were on their holidays. It was manic. Queues were pretty horrendous from late morning onwards although being an early bird I did manage to get on several rides before the hordes arrived. Worth dragging yourself out of bed early for that I think
