What do you Think? (My Photography)

Yup, same here. Why not post the actual photos in the thread? Makes it easier for us to see them.

Sorry for the links, the pictures are all HUGE which is why I decided not to upload the pictures right to the post.
The links should work now.

Photobucket should have an option for a URL to post a smaller image, for message boards and such. Though I'd strongly recommend finding somewhere other than Photobucket to host your images, like Flickr or even better someplace like Smugmug or Zenfolio if you want serious feedback. Pukebucket mangles images with it's optimization. I think it's second only to facebook in how bad it can make even the best photograph look. It doesn't do much good to ask for feedback if we comment on contrast, color or sharpness issues that could be the result of optimization.

And what kind of feedback are you looking for? Think carefully before you answer that one because a lot of people ask for honest feedback and are not happy when they get it.

Danielle makes a good point. Opinions can range all over the place. Better to tell us your goals or what you're trying to achieve. Then folks can give you a targeted opinion as to whether you're reaching your goal, or what you may need to do to get there.

Some of the photos (the locked gate and flag) show an interesting way of looking at the subject and its surroundings.

i'm just asking for people's honest opinions. i don't have any goals set.
negative feedbacks will only help me out for the greater good. :)
but i'm trying to look for the positive feedbacks. lol.

anyway... just rate 1-10. 1 being - could be better. 5 - Good 10 - Great!

Alrighty then! Here's my honest feedback.

You need to establish some goals. The photos you have above are simple clicks that document something, but they don't show anything that is creative, heartfelt, or to me - even something interesting.

When you compose a photograph, you're telling a story. What story do you want to tell with the shots above of a rock, pine cones, or a patch of grass?

I can see that you're experimenting with depth of field, leading lines and other techniques. That's fine, but those are tools to support your story - not the story itself. It's not enough to take a photograph using a technique. You have to find something that is interesting, inspiring, intriguing - something that grabs you and makes you want to share it with others in such a way that they get what you felt. If you take a picture of any old thing, that's what people see.

Finally, you need to start using some post processing tools. The photo isn't finished when it comes out of the camera. You don't have to be as surrealistic as I am, but you do need to adjust contrast, white balance, sharpening and a few basic points to really make them pop. Right now, the images are flat. Some curves adjustments could to wonders for the colors and contrast in those images.

Those are my thoughts. If you have questions about anything I said, please let me know.
