Hey guys, it's been a while...

I'm now living in Daytona Beach attending chiropractic school... it's definitely WONDERFUL being an hour from the happiest place on earth.

Anyways, to the story- my parent's 25th wedding anniversary is next week, and I was at a total loss as to what to do. In September there's a weekend when I can't go to school on a Friday because they're administering National Boards on campus, and nobody is allowed on unless you're taking the test. I told my parents that I would come home that weekend and watch my sister and send them to Hilton Head, SC or something. I was going to plan out the whole trip. My parents said they'd rather be with my sister and I, so my dad was like "why don't we just come down there to Disney for the weekend?" PERFRECT!

So I will be mailing them a box with a letter in it that says something to the effect of "We will be celebrating your 25 years of love and devotion during a magical night at Walt Disney World. It will begin with dinner for just you to at Victoria and Albert's... and the rest, well you'll have to wait and see." Except I'm going to think up some cute stuff to say and make it like fairy tale story like.

I've talked to V&A pretty extensively about this. They have a 6:00 seating, and they know to not mention money or anything- just get my parents whatever they want. Then, in lieu of the check, they'll get a note that says "Happy 25th Anniversary, Mom and Dad. Love, Christie and Allison. PS Meet us down at the marina"

Where we will be... already checked in for our own private Premier Wishes Cruise... with the sound and everything. The boat is going to be decorated with Happy Anniversary stuff.

I'm so excited. The one thing I'm worried about though is that I heard V&A normally takes 2 1/2 hours. They have written on their reservation to have them out of there for 8:15 so they can meet us for boat pick up at 8:15. I'll be there at 8:00 for the check in, and they already know that my parents won't be there till 8:15ish.

I hope it all works out (and I pray my mom doesn't read this!)

So what do you think?

I think you're the best DD anyone could every have. :cloud9:

I think they at least your Mom will be in tears. What an amazing and thoughtful daughter you are.

Would you adopt me as your mom? What a truly wonderful thing you are doing for your parents for their 25th. As DH and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary at Disney in four weeks, we know they will be thrilled and touched beyond measure.

i can only hope that my children will be this awesome one day.. im pretty sure they will be!

Wow, congratulations on making it this far. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

A quote that makes me giggle about marriage (from the ventriloquist Jeff Dunham). Walter is an old guy puppet who's been married 46 years:

Walter: "You know when you said till death do us part?"
Jeff: "Yea"
Walter: "Later you'll realize that you were setting a goal"

:rotfl:

Can I be your mommy?

I was thinking the same thing. It sounds like you have put a lot of thought into making the night special for them, and that's the best part of it to me. My DH and I met at the MK, so maybe if I'm lucky some day my DS will do something like that for us.

Well, I put the box with the note in the mail this afternoon. Really wish I would have taken a picture of it- it came out so well.

Can't wait to hear their reaction when they get it. I think the best part is going to be the surprise wishes boat trip.... can't wait! (I'm sooo bad at keeping secrets too)

That is just so sweet! What good daughters! Your parents are so lucky! Pls let us know how it goes!

Moving this one over to Restaurants.. from ThemeParks. Since it's primarily about a restaurant (V&A) ...

Thanks!

Knox
