What do you think my boyfriend will think of this?

Since I bought annual passes and can go back to Disney all the time I've been booking restaurants for like every other weekend in hopes we'll go that often :rotfl:I got Be Our Guest for dinner August 19 so of course we have to go that weekend.

Soooo...I have a week long trip coming up May 20th for my birthday. Do you think my boyfriend will think I'm crazy if I bring up getting a hotel room for this weekend trip now? Or should I wait until after we get back from the trip to bring this up.

I would book a hotel for that weekend now :) You can always cancel it later!

BTW, I grew up and lived in South Florida for 24 years and my alma mater is FSU :)

Have a blast on your upcoming birthday trip!!!!

Thank you! And go NOLES!

I still need to tell my boyfriend first before I do anything. He probably thinks I'm too Disney obsessed as it is lol.

I love WDW, but every other weekend is a bit much especially if he is not as into it.

I know we probably won't go that often but since restaurants can be really hard to get spur of the moment so I've been booking in case we go. He does like making me happy so maybe we could go often lol. Once a month is probably more realistic, or is that too much too?

So I talked to my boyfriend and he doesn't want to start planning another trip before our trip. I'm just worried that the room I want won't be available then. Do you think the rooms will change much in three weeks for a late august trip?

I don't want you to disrespect your boyfriend but maybe you could explain to him your concern and that you would like to book the room now and then you can discuss the details after your upcoming trip has passed. As others have mentioned, you can always cancel the reservation if you decide not to go. But maybe if you explain to him that you would like to reserve the room just in case with the idea that you can cancel it if you decide not to go may be a good compromise for you guys?

I'll mention that to him. He might not know it's completely refundable.

I usually book first and tell DH after "want to go to Disney???" Then again he's not a hard sell.
Is there a chance if I book now when I get to Disney in a couple weeks the check-in desk mentions how I have another trip planned for August?

There will probably be a bounceback available during your May trip, maybe you can just do it then, like "wow, look at this, I can get a great price for a weekend trip".

Before kids, my husband and I used to love going for long weekends, and we'd concentrate on restaurants, bars, as well as parks. On a 4 day trip, we would do 2 parks and then play mini golf, other fun activities like that.

How do bounce back offers work? I've never done one before. Are they better deals than the discount listed online?

when you check in you can call from room phone or there's a separate bounceback number to call - you must call though before you check out. bouncebacks are either free dining or room only discounts...depending on the time of year you go, is what the bounceback typically is.

I don't understand why you can't just book it. It's refundable and I assume it's your money. Heck, go by yourself! Couples can have different interests. :)

This is what I do. Book, then tell my DH. It's up to him whether he wants to accompany me or not. He came along for one out of three trips last year and plans on coming once this year (out of four trips for me).

Thanks everyone for these helpful suggestions. I'm just trying to be the nice girlfriend and consult with him before planning a trip. It is my money so ultimately it is my decision. Planning far in advance stresses him out, luckily for him I like planning lol. I'll mention to him tonight about how there isn't any risk to me booking now and see how that goes.
