going over Christmas to New Years next year, with the parks being busy we will definitely take advantage of what our resort has to offer.
What resort during Christmas has the best to offer?
This will be our 1st CL stay at WDW we have done CL on DCL and loved it

Our favorite isn't on the list, BWI.

Yes we will be

What goes through my head when we pick a resort... it's location/purpose of trip first, resort/resort amenities second, CL third. I put more value on the resort/location itself over other things, if that makes sense.

Since you'll be there for NYE...my mind instantly starts thinking about that night. There are definitely locational advantages to some of the resorts. Poly/CR/GF have great fireworks viewing (we did Poly on NYE last year, FWIW) for the 12/30 and 12/31 special shows. The Epcot resorts offer walkabiity to Epcot which is a HUGE advantage on that evening.

Also the overall week - like you say - is busy. Transportation options like being on the monorail or walkability to a park can really be a big plus at times. That puts resorts like WL and AKL a bit further down the list for me, personally.

"What resort during Christmas has the most to offer?" The answer to that for some will be GF and WL - they generally have more "holiday stuff" going on and the decorations are great.

But I still tend to think location first, everything else second/third.

Sorry... probably not really what you wanted... just rambling with my thoughts. :-)

I 100% agree with this. We stayed at BWI during Christmas week 2015 and it absolutely saved our trip. The CL resort that will offer you the most that week is the one that is closest to the park/parks you will be visiting most. I would start with where you want to spend NYE and go from there. The more you can take any transportation out of the equation that week (bus, boat, monorail and car), the better off you will be.
