What do you think about Wal Mart clothes?

DS had a huge growth spurt over the last 6 weeks and all his new pants he got for christmas turned into floods!

Anyway DH took the boys to Wal Mart to take a peek at their clothes since Target didn't really have a good sale this week.

A new super Wal Mart just opened in my area and I'm getting a new appreciation for the place...It's so big and clean (nothing like the one we used to have). I also like that their milk comes from farmers who pledge to not treat their cows with growth hormone...but I digress...

So DH was able to get pants for $3...If they last that is amazing! I looked over the receipt he got something like 11 pieces of clothing for $45. Now the boys are in bed and I'm killing time so I'm looking at the women's clothes on their website. They don't seem too bad...and the prices are great.

Do any of you buy clothes regularly from Wal Mart...how do you find the quality to be?

you mean their uniforms? i think the employees look great in their walmart uniforms.

I don't buy much from there because I don't like a lot of their styles but what I do have lasts usually as long as my interest lasts..

Jeans (shorts and pants) I've had good luck with for DD. I haven't noticed much shrinking. Shirts and dresses not so much. They shrink a lot and tend to run smaller than comparable sizes at other stores. I found some t-shirts there the other week for $1 though, so I just bought them a size or two too big, for a dollar I can deal. I'd rather spend a little more and get good quality clothes on clearance, but if they'll just be used for play clothes I can handle the lesser quality.

Ya get what you pay for with them usually, but did get DS7 some wind pants for I think $7 a few weeks ago and he has worn quite a bit prob been washed at least ten times now. Ok so far.

My kids have to wear uniforms to school--khaki shorts and a polo. I have always gotten DS's shorts there. I get the Wrangler brand pants and shorts and both have held up exceptionally well. I think the shorts were $7 and the pants $10 and lasted well over a year. Then this year of course he has 2 growth spurts and outgrew his pants in a matter of months. So for me it works to spend $30 more dollars to get 3 more pair to get us through the rest of the year.

The White Stag brand has a line of ladies t-shirts that I LOVE. I have had some for YEARS and they still look great. I haven't had as much luck with other lines of theirs but their White Stag (which used to be sold at high end department stores back in the 'day') is pretty good for the price.

I find it a good place to get clothes for my boys but not for me. I don't usually see anything I like. I don't find many clothes for myself at Target either. I've had great luck at Walmart finding pants that fit my boys well. And in the summer, I can get several pairs of shorts and several t-shirts for like $3 or $4 each.

I LOVE the White Stag t-shirts!! I have one in every color. Some I've had for years. They are great for wearing under things or just plain. I don't normally buy jeans at Walmart, but I do get lots of tops there. The only thing I've had fall apart was this super thin t-shirt that I got in the juniors section. It lasted a few washes, the unraveled at the seams. I only paid $3 for it on clearance though, so it wasn't too much of a loss. :thumbsup2

Pants, they're ok. Shirts, dresses, skirts- well, they last, but BUY THEM BIGGER than you think, because they'll shrink. I've purchased a few pairs of jeans from them for my girls that have worked for them, but then there have been others that wear out WAYYYYY faster than children's place or Target ones.

NOW, for the price ($3, I think you said)...it's a good deal even if they do wear out in a few months!

The leggings are JUNK. Don't waste your money! They shrink, they become 'see through' and they don't wash well. I've tried to buy a pair of jeans for myself there and they weren't good either! They got short on me. They didn't wash well...they felt way tight after the first wash- and I bought them a size larger, because I knew they'd shrink a bit.

I have gotten a few 'lounge around' dresses on clearance, but haven't had a problem with them. Just buy them a bit larger than you need.

I occasionally pick up clothes for my dd's there when something looks really cute or is on the clearance rack (t-shirts for a dollar are great!). I do find that their clothes shrink easily......but buy a little big and you'll be fine.

They do tend to shrink and you have to be careful about sizes, some things seem to run small.

DD's jeans used to always come from WalMart. They lasted as long as she was able to wear them by fit. Now she is so between sizes, needing girls sizes in some things and junior sizes in other that I find it more things to fit her from Old Navy (I guess their sizing is a bit different?). I do buy some things for myself from WalMart. I have bought tops for work and they have lasted pretty well. In fact I noticed the other day I had three tops that I bought at the same time; one from JC Penney's, one from Kohl's and one from WalMart. The one from WalMart is the only one that hasn't lost its shape and that I still wear to work.

They shrink really bad! The clothes don't last as long. i like Target's brands better with Osh Gosh and Cherokee.

They are great for the price but I have noticed, like others, that they do shrink and fade a lot quicker.

For my younger DDs, they are great for play clothes or if they need something in a pinch. But Old Navy is great if you can catch one of their good clearance sales.

I think of Walmarts clothes as disposable.

Most shirts last one season. Pants and shorts, a little longer.

Love them for the kids because all their clothes only last one season anyway.

I like them for plain t-shirts or sweat pants and that kind of thing. Men's and kid's jeans are fine too.

I love walmart. shop there all the time.
I have tops I bought from walmart 5 years ago that are still in great shape.
If I find a blouse, etc. I like that fits me well, I buy one in 2 or 3 dif. colors. there, I'm "set" for the next disney trip!!
and I'm not embarrassed to say so!!!!
