I read this and posted about it a couple of years ago. Do you think they really paid any attention? Nope. The mainstream media didn't pay her any attention yet her research was impeccable. I have said this so many times, I couldn't believe it when I read your quote. I feel that way too. If middle aged, overweight white women were responsible for these terrorist attacks, then stop me at the airport, search through my things and give me the once (or even twice) over - I have no problem with that. If I fit the profile, then I will just have to live with the inconvenience of it.

Yes. If Asian women start taking over airplanes, I would hope that they would single me out and scrutinize me. I would welcome the profile so that they would have a better chance of catching the terrorists.

Well not enough. The lines at security suggest this. We fly a lot and I'm scrutinized more than warranted.

Again, profiling doesn't mean excluding every other possibility. It means that you create a profile of the most likely, but also keep vigilant for the unexpected.

Excellent! I couldn't have said it better. Forget the PC stuff! If profiling helps to find and stop these murderers, go for it! Profiling isn't just based on appearance, but they also watch behavior, too. You act/look suspicious, you get extra scrutiny.

I think they do. And to balance it out, to make it look like they AREN'T profiling, they pick out random people to make their number of searches come out right.

As a side note, one legitamate reason for extra screening of babies, children, and the elderly is that they could be easily tricked into carrying something on by a stranger, or having something hidden on them or in their bags without them knowing. Picture a terrorist putting explosives in their babies diaper, or sliping something into Grandma's bag while she's looking at the departures board. Unlikely, yes, but possible.

I support profiling and just about anything else that might protect of from terrorism. The terrorist have pretty much taken our freedom away. It's time to kick their butts!
