it's just me and DD 15 going in August. We're staying on site. Because of the heat, I want to carry as little as possible. credit cards, sunscreen, ponchos, water bottles (but I got a doohickey that clamps them onto the outside of your bag), lip balm, iPhone, sunglasses but mine are huge, they go over your glasses because I can't afford prescription ones right now. They will take up the most room in the purse. So I think that's more than the VB hipster will hold. There are so many baggilinins on bags I don't know where to start! I never knew they were so popular! I could just take a larger Vera but everyone seems to rave about the baggilins. Is it because they are so lightweight?

I wear one of those Passporter Pouches around my neck. In it I fit chapstick, pieces of moleskin and a couple bandaids, my CC, my KTTW, some cash, my Drivers Licence, my small phone, and list of ADRs and FP times. I keep my small camera attached to a belt or belt loop at my waist. That's it. No bag check.

We put on sunscreen before we go to the parks.
We get free cups of ice water at CS or Kiosks.
We seek shelter if it rains.
My sunglasses have a croakie, so I can keep them around my neck if I'm not wearing them.

Go for it.

I just came back from a trip to the world. I took no pocketbook. put a cc and my license in my pockets along with a tube of lip gloss. man o man, I loved, loved loved not having to go through bag check.

Guys have it so easy.

i carry a small vera bradley purse with my wallet, phone, camera and a small hair brush.

This. I can squeeze in a granola bar or trail mix. So very liberating. If the family wants to bring snacks, they carry them.

I'm going to try to go as light as possible. Need to get some travel size sunscreen. Good idea on the sunglass strap. Last time I carried a wallet on a string that held ccs and tix and barely my iPhone. Trouble with that is the phone fell out and someone stepped on it by mistake. Luckily, there is an iTunes store at one of the malls and they gave me a whole new iPhone!

When I carry a bag, I like it to be as small & lightweight as possible, while still being able to shift the weight from "over the shoulder" to "cross-body".

I have this bag in aqua and I just ordered it in cherry.
http://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/terrace-mini-bag/94557?productid=10248279

It's on sale today for $11.99. No tax for me. No shipping charge because I have a Shoprunner account. I went through ebates for 12% back ($1.44), got 60¢ in my eBags reward account for the purchase and 1% back (12¢) in credit card rewards. Total actual cost to me for the bag is $9.83.

What I love about this bag is that it is easily organized. It is small enough that I cannot take a lot of heavy stuff with me. And the strap is long enough that I can wear it as a cross-body bag when I need to give my left shoulder a rest.

I usually carry a little cash, my TiW card and AP, driver's license, cellphone, portable charger, sunscreen, Advil, moleskin (already cut in usable pieces), a comb, tissues and hand sanitizer. There's plenty of room in the bag for that stuff and more, but it's easier to find what I'm looking for if I don't overcrowd the bag.

Can't beat $9! I like that bag.

do people carry umbrellas due to the August rain? I'd love to not have to

Great bag! Just now bought one in Cherry myself for our upcoming trip. Thanks for the suggestion.

What do you about a water bottle?

Ha! We're going with 13 people total. Between the 4 of our immediate family, husband isn't carrying anything, daughter has a mini backpack with just the ponchos, son will have the Adidas string pack for water bottles. I was originally going to carry the string pack but since I prefer a cross body the one I just ordered will be perfect. I also like the bottles with the caribiner hook but don't always have a belt loop for one.

Yes, people will carry umbrellas and some will use them for shade when standing in the strong sun. My personal preference is to duck for cover in heavy rain. Umbrellas don't do you much good when the rain is hitting the ground so hard that it is splashing back up at you. Summer rain storms don't usually last very long in Florida.

What do you about a water bottle?
IF I carry a water bottle (and that's a big IF, because I don't like dealing with the weight since breaking my shoulder a few years back), I use one of these:

I don't even know if they are manufactured anymore, but my Brita bottle fits in it snugly and it insulates well enough to keep the water cool for hours.

I just got 3 hooks for $7 from Amazon that go on your purse strap or a belt bottle an attach a bottle of water. that way it isn't taking up space in my purse

We carry nothing. Phone goes in pocket. Phone is also used as a camera. We also had magic maker. Money in another pocket. Didn't carry much, put everything on magic band. Wore sunglasses but moved them to head. One day it was chilly in the evening and threat of rain, we got a locker for the bag. We bought ponchos offsite.
