What do you take to prevent motion sickness?

Bonine is good for 24 hours. It does make me a little drowsy, so I take it before I go to bed.

The less drowsy dramamine is the same as the bonine (exact same ingredients - 25mg Meclazine). It also claims to work for 24 hours. So when I have been on my cruises, I take it at bedtime so I'm going to sleep anyway, and I'm fine during the day - no seasickness. I'm going to try it next month in Disney. I still don't think I will try Mission Space. I hate those simulator rides. I got sooooo sick on Back to the Future at Universal even with my eyes closed. But, I would like to try riding the teacups again.

Kasmir, Nope I wasn't drowsy at all. The funny thing is I never realized that the newer "non-drowsy" Dramamine was the same active ingredient. The only difference is the dramamine has dosage for 1 a day and the prescription is three times a day. I had bought the "non-drowsy" for my children, but after learning its not like the "other" dramamine I read the back and children under 12 shouldn't take it. So, bag to the sleepy original for them on the plane!

Bonine for me. Works great. I usually take it before I go to sleep the night before or if I know I am going to be riding late into the next day, I will set the alarm and take it at about 3 am....

It usually does not make me drowsy, but I prefer to be safe than sorry.
