I will be staying for five nights off-site before the Disney portion of my trip. I was thinking of maybe taking my kids on a monorail tour during the off-site time. I have our Disney tickets (plastic card) and Magic Bands because of our resort stay. What do you show the parking lot person who you would either pay or get in for free as a resort guest? In the past I think it was the plastic card key, but I don't really remember, might not be able to do this monorail riding if I can't park for free. It will only be for a short time anyway. TIA! :confused3

If you wanted to park at the TTC and get on the monorail, you would need a Disney resort parking pass, which is given to all Disney resort guests at check-in, to park for free. If you're staying off-site, you would pay $15 to park. As the PP said, if you park at a Disney resort, you wouldn't have to pay, but I'm not sure if there's a time-limit. The only time we park at a resort other than the one we stay at, is if we have a dining reservation at that resort.

Ok, I may save our monorail joyride for the day we check in to POR but don't have park tix. Thanks!

Parking is $17 not $15

uh hum its now 17$
but there is no reason why you can't park at GF and tell them you are going to eat lunch there…even if you don't have a reservation…they usually let you park in short term parking with a guest pass….the GF has a big guest lot….the Contemporary and the Poly are often full depending the time of year…if the lots are full they will turn you away but if they are not full you can visit and park for free for a couple hours…long enough to ride the monorail, avoid the $17 and have fun..just stay to the right when you pass trough the MK entry gate and continue on Florida Way turn left go in front of the Poly and then proceed to GF…Good luck.

We went to the Poly last week and parked for free and walked around for an hour or so. I told the guy at the gate that I just was going to see the lobby one more time before they tore it down. He just waved me in and Said to have a magical day.

That is great! It really does depend on how full they are and what time of year…they do sometimes turn you away as I have been at The Contemp even though I was staying at The Lodge….They give you a short term pass to put on your dashboard….not long enough to do anything like go to the MK..I wonder if they would tow you if you stayed parked at the Poly for the day!??
