I'm thinking of selling things on Craigslist for some extra money. What kinds of things do you sell? If you sell kids clothes, about how many items do you lump together as a "package"? How do you decide on a price for the items you sell?

I have sold a lot of kids clothes on craigslist, always in batches. I usually figure out what I am willing to sell for $20-25 and that's the batch. I definitely do it by size (so Boys size 4 for example). For that $20-25, it completely depends on the type of clothes as to the # of items. It could be 40 items that are well-used or 6 items that are like new from a good brand. Generally, I would say that it's about 20 or so items like jeans, shirts, shorts, etc. Winter coats I would do separately, those I have sold for around $20 (brands like Gap/Talbots Kids...).
Good luck to you!! We are trying a children's sale in a few weeks in our town with about 25 families as another method for getting rid of kids/baby items a lot at a time...maybe someone in your town runs something similar? My feeling was that it was a lot easier than craigslist, since it's all done in a day, vs. pickups/no shows/spam emails, all things that go along with craigslist.
I've sold everything from children's clothing, coats, shoes, etc to household items, a water softner, jewelry, christmas items.....digital camera.... just to name a few!
If brand new, I try to sell close to the price I paid, minus maybe $20-30 or so. If used, I try to halve the new price. If clothing, I just ballpark it, what I would like to get out of it and start there. I always try to start on the higher side of things, just in case someone wants to bargain me down. I have budged a few times, but most times I stick to my price and it sells. I've had very few items not sell.
I just listed a TON of girls clothing in all different sizes, so it was hard to put together "lots" like you would see on Ebay. We'll see how it goes. If they don't sell, I have a consignment sale coming up in April and it will all go there. Good luck!
I've mostly sold larger items (bikes, furniture, etc), I haven't tried selling clothes on CL, but I bought 2 big bags of teen clothes for $25 today! I can't believe how many people out there put together big lots of every size. If my dd wears a 3, why do I want a lot that also has a sz 12 in it??

After we moved and saw how much stuff we still had, we just started selling. I've sold furniture, clothing, toys, etc...Over the $1k mark as far as how much we've gotten for selling these items. As far as DD's clothes I separate them by size AND seasons to make things easier. We just got back from Disney and right before then I got rid of 2 of 3 grills I had, 2 of 3 crockpots, some baking pans and a load of DD's winter clothes. Made for some good savings toward our NEXT trip.
