What do you say to the characters?

My DD always tells Cruella that she has 2 dogs and will never get her hands on them! It is so cute.

We give all the charaters hugs, except I don't hug the princesses..it just feels too weird. DD does though. I love to sqeeze pooh!

We alway thank them as well.

Welllll

Snow White: Where are the 7 dwarfs?
Capt Hook: ARRRRRRRRR
Gepetto: Is your real name Drew Carry?
Alice: Can you recite the Jaberwakie (sp) poem?

Those are the different ones we've used.

We have said and done most of what is already listed. It's always fun to tell the Wicked Queen and other villains how beautiful they look. Most of our conversations are:

"Can we get a group shot with all of us? Ok, now just the kids. Look here. Whoops. Someone blinked. Can we do it again? Thanks. Now can we get your autograph?" It takes a good long time for all of this so we usually have lots of time for cute banter.

At Disneyland several years ago we took a pic with Donald but my eyes were closed so we got another one and I said "Well at least my eyes are open this time!" and Donald gave one of his ducky laughs! I didn't realize he made any noise at all, it was so cute and funny!

My three boys wore Incredible Shirts and masks to see Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. Mrs. Incredible didn't even wait on the boys to walk up to her before making a big deal out of their shirts and masks.
We asked Chip or Dale if they got to eat at LLT and when he said no we invited him to take a seat, but some mean waiter made him get up :rotfl:

My 4 yr old grandaughter told Chip, at the LTT, that this was our last nite and he picked her up sat down in a chair and rocked her!!!! It was so sweet.

I always make a point of saying Thank you because I bet they don't hear it too often.
same, its like automatic now, even my little brother does it! :teeth:

I always say "thank you."

Never struck up a conversation with anyone, but sometimes the characters get going on their own. When DW and I were down on our honeymoon we met Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. One of them (who knows which, lol) pointed at DW's ring, then at me, and they both started laughing at me.

Mr. Smee panicked when he saw Tink on my wife's shirt and ran over to Hook, who wasn't too happy about it.

I think the best character interaction we had was I had won DW a big stuffed dinosaur in AK. As we were leaving the park Baloo was outside. He snatched the dinosaur from DW and ran it over to Rafiki. Rafiki took it, knelt down and held it up like it was Simba on Pride Rock. :teeth:

Oh lets see.....I usually say whatever pops into my head which can be good and bad. We met a lot of the villians at MNSSHP and they can be a bit intimidating even to us grown-ups.

Jafar- He has such a grumpy face I had to comment. I said " Wow thats' some face you have". He did his hands and shook his head as to say "You aren't so great". I said ( as I was dressed as a wench for MNSSHP) "Well what do you expect I'm a wench." He nodded to this and we took the picture.

Queen Of Hearts- I had to go up to her twice to get a good picture. The first time she threw her arms in front of me so you couldn't see me. So I came back later that night and she remembered me. She gestered to me and shook her head. I said " I'm back I want a good picture so behave yourself this time". She crossed her arms and turned from me. The picture turned out great that time. Then she saw my DH and she came up and grabbed him and had him kiss her hand. It was great.

Male ducks are called drakes, Donald is a male, so....shouldn't his name be Donald Drake?
You could mention this to him in the park and see what kind of reaction you get. :)
Ask him if he has gender confusion...

Once when my sister and I were having lunch at Crystal Palace, an older woman was sitting by herself across from us, and we couldn't help laughing at the way she talked to the characters. She said to Tigger "oh, I saw your movie, you were great" and to Piglet "you know, you are my favourite, but you look smaller in the books" and things like that. It was so funny to hear.

My DW did that when she met Mickey. I gave her such a hard time for weeks!

In the Dinosaur area at Animal Kingdom, we started playing some games and the dinosaur character(I don't know his name), got on the other side of and looked at me like his was wanting to win the game. I won the game and looked at him and grinned. He came running over to me like he was mad and we play wrestled for a few seconds and he put my head in his mouth. It scared my kids when he did that and he quit and started playing with my kids.

On our last trip we had breakfast at CRT. There were 4 little girls in our group, so you can imagine how excited they all were to meet the princesses.

My 2 year old DD was trying to talk to Jasmine, but the two 4 year olds kept getting in her way. Finally she says "Look at me Jasmine!!" Jasmine looks down at her and here she is pulling a face(fingers in either side of her mouth pulling out, and tongue sticking out, with her eyes crossed!). Jasmine totally lost her composure and started giggling like crazy, and telling DH & I what DD had done (although we already saw her)! It was too cute and funny!

Like many others, we always say thank you, as do our DDs (4 and 2). We also always call them by name when talking to them.

There ya go, 15 or 16 pages of ideas! Just read through it again the other day. Great for character dinners or for when you have a little extra time with a character. It doesn't take long to ask one question and get a little more magic in your day!

The ones I hope to try:
Ask Belle what she's reading lately
Ask Chip & Dale which is the smart one and which is the cute one
Ask Minnie how many dresses she has

I would feel better if DD8 would do the asking though! We'll see!

For the most part DS7 thinks girls are pretty yucky, but for some reason he's always loved to compliment the princesses. He's got the whole spiel down before he gets up to them and it usually goes something like this..."Ariel...you're so beautiful I'd fight Ursula for you". More times than not he gets a kiss on the check. In Disneyland this past June we did a princess lunch at Ariel's Grotto and 4 of the 5 princesses kissed him--he looked adorable with 2 kisses on one cheek, one on the other, and one smack dab in the middle of his forehead.

Tell Mary Poppins you have a joke for her..."I know a man with a wooden leg named Smith"

She'll give you the evil eye!
