any predictions for how later in the year is going to fare for crowd levels?

I'm in the travel industry and those that were planning on going to disney from March to May pushed it back to June and July.
while i have also had a few later in the year reservations cancel altogether because of financial issues.

I feel like all bets are off for what the parks are going to be like for the remainder of 2020, but what do you think?

This is an impossible prediction to make. There are simply too many variables to consider.

There is the duration/progression on the virus, date of reopening, public fear and perception, local AP holder attendance, the economy, airline availability due to funding, operational capacity, cast member numbers and availability... just to name a few.

I used to work in the travel industry and with economic fallout, I believe the crowd levels will be lower. As with anything travel however, nothing is certain.

yeah i have been in the travel industry 7 years and the company i work for has been in place for over 30.
personally, we have seen that a large majority of our bookings that were traveling from March to May have pushed their dates back to later in the year.
we had over 30 wedding groups in next 60 days alone that have all had to be moved and re-accommodated.
however, our phones sure aren't ringing for new trips but only time will tell

Yes, primarily because I bet there still will be a significant ban on international travelers, even if by some miracle the parks opens in June

Less people with the expendable cash to visit and a significant reduction in older people going over the next year.
People who still go are likely to lower their budget. I see the deepest decline in the popular multi-generational trips.

Total guess: 20% can't go now financially, the 75% who do will mostly be spending less, and a majority of 65yo+ won't be going this year. Maybe 33% reduction overall?

In addition to the other factors listed I am also curious if this virus comes and goes in waves. The curve will flatten while we are quarantined at home but what happens when we all go back out into the public? Won’t it surge back again? I think only time will tell. That could also influence crowds for the future

i think what we are hoping and praying for is that warmer weather comes with less sicknesses
that's why we see that destinations that are a lot warmer are seeing a lot fewer cases. yes some are a bit more remote and don't have an influx of people every day, but regardless. that can be said with any sort of flu season and what not.

however, i do agree with you. there potentially could be another wave of this when we get to colder temps again. or sooner.

but alternatively, you could read a bunch of articles out there that there is a slight possibility that a lot of people had this virus from november 2019-january 2020 without quite knowing for sure what it was. similar to how some are currently asymptomatic and don't really ever know they have/had it.

i for one had a horrible, just terrible upper respiratory illness in the beginning of february. got tested for the flu, came back negative. crazy coughs, fever, chest pains, now i scratch my head and wonder........

this post wasn't necessarily about the virus itself but just for some predictions of what we may see in the next 9 months to a few years.

i know that due to how wonderful the economy was before this there was a lot more disposable income and a lot more people were traveling (not only to disney) than ever before.
And i'm sure that that will TREMENDOUSLY decrease.
