What do you plan to change for your next trip?

I've only been once before, but for our trip this month we are doing the following new things:
* Eating at a character meal (8:10 breakfast at CP)
* Going when the Christmas decorations are up

I am also trying to talk family members into an ADR at Marrakesh. And I would like to get DH to slow down enough to notice the magic, even though we're following the Unofficial Guide's plans again.

This will be our 4th trip but there are soooooo many things that we always seem to miss;

First time at a Disney Resort
Staying 10 days
Fantasmic
Wishes and Illuminations Cruises
12 ADRs
First time at Christmas
First time that parks will be open late (usually off season)
After a couple of early days, we will sleep in for a few days-can't do that when the parks close at 7.
Cirque de Soliel
Just enjoy being there instead of trying to DO something all the time
.

You note at the end of your thread that you stayed at the CBR and the Dolphin. How would you compare the two?

Going to venture off property and go to Sea World and spend two nights at Vero Beach.

I dragged 90 extra pounds around WDW last year. It wasn't a problem physically, didn't really slow me down at all - but I can't bear to look at myself in our pictures. I've started "dieting for Disney" with an eye toward our trip next November. I'm down 13 so far, and hope I can stick it out so I can put on a breezy little sundress and enjoy myself.

Have one day ( or have day) where we don't plan anything. Sleep in, swim at the pool (or maybe the water park), read a book, get a sun tan- just let the day unfold. :sunny:

Our WDW trips have mostly consisted of 10+ days, and this time we're only taking a long weekend. (Which is better than nothing! :teeth: ) I'm really going to have to adjust my thinking. The good part is that we're going in January (also new to my family--WDW without sweating? What will we do?!) when the hours are reduced, so we won't kill ourselves going non-stop for 14 hours like we do during the summer. We'll be forced to relax at dinner at a restaurant after park hours! :sunny:

Like most of you, we're going to slow down. Notice more of the details. Enjoy each other. We've never really been "commando" in the parks, but I do feel like when we get off one ride, we're rushing to the next instead of taking it all in. That being said, the full day we spend at MK we're going to try to follow a touring plan to minimize wait times. We'll be in the MK several other times to smell the roses.

Others:
Nighttime party--Pirates & Princess pirate: princess:

Surprise day for kids (that includes the party)

Staying at a DVC Villa (more space, kitchen for food--especially breakfast)

Not relying on Disney Transportation for everything (we learned we can get just about anywhere except the MK faster by our own car)

Groceries delivered to the room (it is worth it to me not to waste any of our family fun time)

Do other activities--we always play miniature golf & love that (our day "off"), but to take time to play in an arcade, rent a bike, etc.

Earning money through rewards programs so we could do the upgrades to DVC accommodations add a character meal, etc.--I've got our projected dining costs paid for & some souvenirs through reward programs.

Probably more once we get there . . . .
