This trip I plan to see more parades and shows. I also plan to rest a little instead of going comando at the parks. :beach:

What do you plan to change for your next trip?

I am definitely going to force my husband to sit for a few parades....I think the little one will enjoy them this year. I am going to beg my kids NOT to get autographs this year. The older ones aren't into it much anymore, and the 2 year old won't even understand the concept. I hate wasting time doing this, but my husband thinks it's neat. We've done it over and over though! Finally, we will ride Splash Mountain, even if it means we might get wet. We've always avoided it in the past, fearing that we'd be soaked and cold in December.

Laurie in OH, mom to

Alex, 11 years old
Julianne and Leah, 10 years old
Audrey, 2 years old

WDW visits in 1973, 1986, 1987, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005!
Currently planning a December 9-16, 2006 trip!

You might not want to hear what I am going to say....but here goes....

Spend less time in WDW and MORE MORE time on the MAGIC and the WONDER.

I had the opportunity to do a "land and sea" this past Feb '06 and the WONDER was well simply WONDERful  ....OMG....I have taken my family to WDW at least 10x, stayed in everything from the All Star Resorts to WL to CR to AKL and I am telling you I was absolutely blown away by the DCL Cruise. My only wish was that I had thought SOONER to try the cruise.

I have a 7 day Eastern on the Magic for Feb 08.

We plan to let the kids sleep as late as they want. We're not rushing, not killing ourselves. We're going to plan to stay out at the parks later with the kids and even put them in the kids club while we hit the parks solo.

We did some of the shows and other stuff we haven't done in a while on our last trip .

I told DD we are going to pick 2 sections of each park and do everything in those sections for each trip. It worked out real well as we haven't done some in a while.

We're going to split our stay between the AKL and WL.(Never done a split stay) We love WL and want to experience AKL and Sunrise Safari.
We are definately NOT going commando style. It's all about rest and relaxation. We have only made one ADR for this trip and plan on being much more spontaneous.

We will try semi-commando this time.
That means arrive at EMH and go crazy for 3-4 hrs then proceed at leisurely pace for a while before park hopping, maybe even back to room for a break.

Hope to see a couple of shows we missed and new ones.
Have scheduled a "sleep late day" in middle of 10 day trip.
Have scheduled a day in each water park (last time did only one).
Have planned time to visit Disney Quest.
We will visit Kennedy Space Ctr before checking in @ WDW.

And finally, left a morning & evening unplanned to spontaneously decide what park or rides to re-do.
Gee, hoping I don't freak out over lack of complete control. :rotfl2:

We plan to see more shows. (Can you believe we have never seen Festival of the Lion King?) And also do more sit down meals. We normally go commando style and just garb a bite to eat when the hunger bug strikes.

We are going w/o kids this next trip--in December (we usually go in the summer). I don't have much planned. Lots of spontaneity. We are going to MVMCP and I have an ADR for CP. We will eat some late sit down lunches (we usually do sit down suppers). DH is taking me to "Tea" the first day.

We have a lot of firsts planned.

On this next trip, we are going to "TRY", and take it easy, slow down the pace, and feel somewhat rested during this trip. Like this is going to happen, but we keep trying to fit in some relaxation time.

Staying LONGER!! :cool1:

Ummm, I thought going commando meant going out without your underwear. ;)

No but after a week of no sleep that is a possibility as you are running out the door. :lmao:

We're definitely going to take it easier than we did last time. I want to see more shows, and do more things that are off-park, like Pleasure Island and miniature golf. I always think I'm going to do those things, but we end up walking around the parks for 6-8 hours, and then we're usually so tired that we end up skipping the other things I wanted to do. And the non-park things would probably be more fun for my boyfriend. This year, I'm just going to make it happen!

I actually find it more relaxing to have ADRs. Essentially, it means I'm scheduling at least one time each day when we'll be sitting down for an hour or more. The one time I did manage to leave the parks early last visit was when I had an ADR at DTD or a resort, so now that I think about it, that might be a good trick to try again this time!

It's great that the winter deal has the water parks, Pleasure Island, and DisneyQuest at no extra cost, because that means I have absolutely no excuse this time!

For one, we're going longer.
We're going to get to Magic Kingdom early 2 mornings to maximize our experience.
We have ADR's this time.
We will try to have afternoon rests. :-)
Doing so many things I've never done before (Fantasmic, World Showcase, MVMCP, CP, CRT)
Going w/o deployed husband :-(

I plan to spend 2 full days at Magic Kingdom, and go in Innoventions at EPCOT!

We are not going to Florida in the summer again, it is just wayyyy too hot for us.

I am going to take it slower. Also, I might wander around the parks at closing and not rush to get back on the bus. It is the best time of the day for me.

Just taking it the sights and sounds and seeing all the happy faces. Not rush as much and don't get hung up on being on a schedule.

I want to try to make use of the 'extra magic hours' for once- it seems like they never match our day to day schedule for some reason...

We are pretty lazy WDW vacationers as it is so if we tried to rest more we probably would never make it out of bed!

But this trip just a few simple things:

1) Trying a few new restaurants rather than the ones we always go to.

2) Actually parking ourselves early for a parade or two - the last two trips we have skipped them.

3) For DS4 and DS6...sucking it up and buying two overpriced balloons at the end of our first day (hopefully so they can enjoy them a few days). They always want them, we always say no...time we caved in to the overpriced balloons just once.

We're going to bring breakfast food with us to eat in the room, and we're going to eat most of our dinners off property. We just weren't at all impressed with the quality of Disney food this last trip, and it's pretty easy to take a short drive and get better food for half the price. This was a condition of DH agreeing to plan a trip for next year.

That said, the meals we DO eat on property are going to be at places we haven't tried. I am particularly looking forward to "grown up night out" at California Grill :).

I am bringing an empty carry on bag for all the souvenirs the kids and I buy. It was pretty stressful trying to cram everything into our suitcases this last trip.
