What do you personally do to help the Earth/environment? Recycle, clean up a park, remove trash from your local beach, plant trees, take care of animals, or any other things? 🌎

Great topic! I hope to get some more ideas from everyone :)

I definately make an effort to buy less plastic and wasteful packaging, I try my best to reduce my energy consumption- run dishwasher/laundry machines only when full, raise AC temp, lower heat temp, park my car once and walk more, I would love to use solar power for my home, but we can't afford the transition. I also reuse as much as possible. I definitely recycle, but I also realize that it probably goes in the landfill anyways...

Recycling bins on every floor of the house.

I've ditched plastic bottles for laundry detergent and toilet bowl cleaner. (I use Earth Breeze laundry sheets and Blueland toilet tablets.)

I use refillable water bottles and re-purpose other plastic containers when I can.

We also have a compost bin, solar panels, and one of our cars (so far) is a hybrid.

Reuse, recycle. I use Brita water bottles that I fill from the tap instead of single-use plastic bottles. I bring recycled mesh bags to the supermarket for my fruits and vegetables. I try to not buy things in plastic, which is difficult and usually costs more I have to say. If I can walk there I do instead of getting someone to drive me.

Not a lot really, but I do where I can. I do toss my recyclables in the proper bin and the city takes it. There is some debate as to what actually happens to it after that though. I drive a pretty fuel-efficient car and try to keep my energy copsts low. I used to drive my mom and grandparents crazy as a kid because I would do like "energy bug" said and turn off lights everywhere. "I was going right back in there!" I would hear. 🤣 I am good about that kind of stuff.

We recycle, refuse to buy bottled water (we have plenty at home that are refillable) we are hikers/Jeepers and on every trip we pick up after the filthy humans who are out to destroy our beautiful natural areas. We are also firm believers in the “stay the trail”

Support the LNG industry (donate to appropriate politicians and lobbyists; write/contact key decision-makers) - converting coal power in China and India to a cleaner source would make more impact on global climate change than anything else that could be named here.

Things like extending the use of items, picking up trash and limiting water waste is just human decency as far as I'm concerned; not a purposeful effort towards the environment.

I do a lot my carbon footprint is less than average for Americans. My house is small only have what I need. I don’t need a big house. I keep things longer than the average American. Furniture, clothes, basically everything. I try not to waste food. The average American wastes 219 pounds of food a year. If you only waste half that amount you will cut carbon emissions of 561 pounds a year. The average American carbon footprint is 16 tons a year. Globally it’s 4 tons.
I don’t eat a lot of red meat. If you eat half of what the average American uses you will save 687 pounds of carbon emissions a year.
I don’t have a camper.
I don’t have a boat.

Agree it’s just human decency. A lot of would I’ve read on here is just virtue signaling.
