Hi All,

Just been researching, as always, lol and ive been seeing on a few boards that you must pay a room deposit when you arrive in Disney! I stayed in CBR in 2008 and cannot remember paying anything when we checked in we might have but I cant remember......is there a credit card charge or a cash deposit to be paid??? Sorry if this has been asked before!!!
The reason im asking is, i use a visa debit card and my mum uses my dads credit card.............eeeek just want to be organised!!!!

We've never had to pay a "deposit" and we have stayed onsite a few times.

They do take a credit card or debit card, if you want your KTTW card to have charging priviledges, but you can decline this. We do. We never have use our card for charging as prefer to pay cash.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply!!!Thats great, as I have seen from old threads/websites that a $200 "deposit" was required, this may be for off site and Im confusing it? Was nervous as, like yourself I prefer to pay for everything in cash ( call me old fashioned!)

Again thanks for your reply! :)

I don't think they do deposits but beware with a debit card they might put a "hold" for a certain amount on there. This will tie up a certain amount of balance if done. As long as they havew the CC number they don't need th deposit.

I would check on this to be sure.

no, OP, you've got things confused and mixed up.

What you read/heard is about US bookings.

the $200 is a deposit, and full balance is due upon check in. That's for guests who book with Disney US

If you've booked with WDTC-UK (and paid in £) and paid in full, you have nothing else to pay for upon check in.
Still you can add a credit/debit card to your KTTW in order to get charging privileges for your KTTW.

PHHHHEWWWW :yay:

Thank you so much, yes Ive gotten all mixed up! Thats great, yes Ive booked with WDTC so that clears everything up!!! Just been reading too many scare stories surrounding this deposit and the amount they put on hold on a visa debit card!! I just want to work in cash :)
Thank you all for your replys :worship:

if you want to work with cash, when you do OLCI, do not fill in the credit card details.
Once at the hotel, the CM at the desk will tell you that you're on cash basis and ask you if you wish to add a CC, just say no thanks. That CM might try to convince you of the benefits of having a CC tied to your KTTW, just stand your ground :)

from that point on, you'll need to work with cash (but remember that at any point during your stay, you can add a CC to your KTTW and get charging privileges, just go to the front desk/concierge.

KTTWs have a limit on how much you can spend

for values its $500, for moderates it's $1000 and $1500 for deluxe and DVC
Disney won't charge your CC unless you hit that limit (or check out, whichever comes first)
if you hit that limit, any store or restaurant will contact your hotel, payment will be processed, and you start over with a 0 balance and hence a full limit.

but since you don't seem to be willing to use that, I'm only saying that for the record (or any other DISer who might find this info useful)

we never put a CC on the room, had problems in past. Not a problem when checking in,they don't push it,Just check on your last morning if any charges made to your room
