What do you never enter the park without?

I like to go bagless.

I travel light in the parks - well, as light as a 275lb guy can travel - and don't even stop for those bag check lines at the entrances. I carry no spare lenses, no camera bags (no bags of any kind), no full-size tripod. But I have lots of little stuff, which, after 19 trips since 1990, I have devised various non-bag methods of comfortably and conveniently dragging it all around the parks with me.

Actually, since there is no bag, it's quite comfortable. I've found that bags tend to cause more heat, since they often sit against your back or waist and hold heat, and they also concentrate the load, while my setup distributes the load more comfortably.

The pocket kinfe is for anything that needs cutting, scraping, or prying - packages, paper, thread, sometimes food (I try to keep the blade clean).

WOW , All I can say to the above it WOW!!
We never go to the park without Baby Wipes. They are great for hands and for cooling off faces.

WillCAD, wow! :worship:

I travel light as well. But, I prefer the REI Flash UL pack.

It gives me room to add a 1L Nalgene water bottle, a light weight fleece jacket and a first aid kit. Yes, I'm a scouter. I can't go anywhere without the old 10 essentials. :rotfl:

I use the small Baggalini rip-stop wallet bag, which has lots of slots for credit cards, ID and all our park tickets. It also holds my sunglasses, DD's sunglasses, a small tube of sunscreen and the digital camera. It expands, too.

Our must-haves, though, are Chapstick and hand sanitizer.

ETA: Wonder why that picture didn't post...

The less better...definitely! I always carry my Passporter Passholder(Dh hides it in his pocket so we don't need to go thru security) and in that I have some cash, keys to the world cards, drivers license(yeah, cuz, umm, at 42, I get carded ALL the time) and debit card. That's it. My youngest child is 5 and I've been doing this for 2 years. I slather sunscreen on her in the AM and we're fine the rest of the day. I HATE carrying a bunch of crap and/or going thru the security lines. I realized I never needed half the crap I took in. If you have an infant, its a different story.:)

I have done the parks with kids, without kids, and even by myself. Our kids are now 8 and 10. No strollers for us. With the kids, I carry a small backpack (the string handled bag type) that holds my camera & case (all proper ID & medical cards are in case for me and kids), 2 water bottles (we refill them in the water fountains to save money throughout the day), a few granola bars, a few bandaids, a tabletop tripod (usually more for night shots), and tissues. Kids carry their own sunglasses and pin lanyards. My husband will carry money, tickets, cellphone, and PhotoPass card. I take a picture of our tickets and keep a copy in my camera and put a copy on our laptop (plus write down numbers in my journal) in case we loose them. I do the same once we get our PhotoPass Card. I put sunscreen on in the AM when we leave hotel. If it's just me or with my hubby then it's just my camera in it's case with ID cards, and a bottle of water. Other than tickets, money, camera, and proper ID, a bottle of water is my necessity. If I don't bring in a bottle of water, then I buy one as soon as we get there, and then refill it during the day in the water fountains. Pick up a Park Map and you are on your way!!!

Lucky for us we still have little ones which require a large stroller with plenty of space in the under side bag area to place all we need including a soft side cooler for drinks and snacks to help us save.

I carry an Overland Donner too. I take our ponchos, Tylenol for DH and I and chewables for the kids, zinc stick for the kids faces, **sunblock**(a necessity for us, I reapply it to the kids every couple of hours), a small package of wipes, cell phone, AP's, travel size deodorant and our Hidden Mickey book. My husband carries our camera.
It sounds like a lot but, it is all small stuff. We all wear ball caps and sunglasses too.:goodvibes

I just got back from WDW, and man, did I over pack!!!
We took 2 strollers, one for DS3 and DS5. One had a basket under it.

What I needed:
Lanyard w/ tickets (KTTW)
money/ID/insurance cards
cell phone
Ibuprophen
Chapstick
Lidded cups for kids
Camera
Wet wipes (for ice cream issues)

We lucked out in Sept, and only had one brief (10 min) shower, so I didn't need the ponchos or chamois cloth, the kids rode the strollers, so I didn't need extra socks or shoes, and fortunately didn't need any of my MANY blister inhibiting products. We also had the DDP, so didn't even need snacks!
Hope this helps!!

pirate: We know there are things we need and we don't like pockets full of stuff. We carry a small backpack with many of the "essentials" previously mentioned - to include bagged snacks we make up and water. There are plenty of places to refill the water bottles. I take my "fishing" hat. It's a ball cap with a little larger bill but has a zip on attachment that covers my neck and ears, and it it is great. Many times people in the parks ask where I got it - I'm surprised Disney doesn't sell them!

i never leave home without:

tickets
credit card
ID -- driver license
health insurance card (cuz you never know)
hand sanitizer (cuz it can get gross sometimes)
camera
sunblock stick
band aids
extra hair tie
advil
vitamin c drops and/or sucking candies (for when waiting on line and one of us gets a little hungry)

and all of these things fit into my cute Harajuku Lovers Belt Bag -- NOT fanny pack, cuz that's just wrong -- it's a belt bag:

I take a small makeup bag - Just toss it into a purse, backpack, diaper bag etc. I get some travel size things - Excedrin, Purell, hand lotion, Brush ups (not made anymore ) or mints or gum (Bring your own, can't buy it at Disney), a small comb, tickets, room key, ID, insurance card, cash, lip balm w/sunscreen, Band Aids, small Neosporin and alcohol wipes (very small, individually wrapped, can buy at Walgreens for $2.00). It sounds like a lot, but it all fits nicely inside the bag. The passes, ID and cash line the side, as does the comb. Not heavy at all. It's best to bring comforts like Purrell and Neosporin. If you experience a hiccup, everything is there at your convenience. Best to be prepared - or so says my Type A personality.

i hate carrying around baggage.
on top of the few usual things most bring
1 med sized ziploc to put my camera and phone in for the rainy days
my 3x5 card for the day with a rough plan along with your adr confirmation numbers, helps a ton when they made mistakes, which even tho it doesnt happen often, they still happen
tickets, etc in the wallet
dont forget your extra battery and mem card for your camera either, dont wanna ruin half your day if u forgot to recharge the battery or overuse the 1 you have early in the day.

WillCad---we need to get you together with the guy who did that stroller mod with new wheel and lights. What creativity and ingenuity!!!! I salute you!:worship:

When I go to the parks durning the day I usually bring this Nike gymsack with me. It is very lightweight and I usually forget that I am even wearing it. I keep a small pack of kleenex, bottle of water, camera, bandaids, suncreen, and hats in it. I usually just put my park ticket in my back pocket. I never carry cash, just my room card so I can charge everything to the room. When I go to the parks at night, I just bring my ticket and room key. I try to carry as little as possible, because when you bring too much it is just a hassel to keep track of everything.

I've been going to Disney for the past 15 yrs. We used to carry big backpacks with EVERYTHING under the sun but now we've (I've) really compacted to minmal.

I take in a very small back pack or a purse:
My medication/ and medical info ( I have Lupus so I have a lot of info to keep on my person) oh and things like advil and tums
Chapstick/lipgloss
Hair tie/bobby pins
wallet (with money, id, park pass and debit card, insurance info, all that good stuff)
Camera and extra batteries.
umbrella, ONLY if the weather says it might rain
I keep a light jacket or hoodie in the car so if it cools down It's there.
oh and mini first aid kit with bandaids and packets of like neosporin
Sunglasses on my head!

this trip will be with my niece and we'll have a big stroller and my sister and I usually share items and compact the best we can so we don't really carry a lot the list may seem long but most of the stuff is small!

You say you over packed, what did you originally pack that you didn't need?

Thanks

I always keep a can of bug spray in the car and spray, especially our legs, before going into a park or resort. We have so many times been bitten by the "no seeums". This seems to happen alot at the resorts too where there is so much shrubbery around the walking paths. It has happened day and night to us.I got bitten really bad at Candlelight one year and other times just from walking around the resorts in the daytime.
One funny story though, make sure you allow it to dry on your skin. We had parked at the Poly and sprayed ourselves. Went in, bought something at one of the shops and were sitting outside eating. I looked down and saw all of this red coloring on my daughter's leg.....I thought she had hurt herself, but it was the coloring coming off of the Disney bag from her purchase at the shop!!!!!
