To all of you in harm's way, please know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.

When you can take stock, please post and let us know specifically what we can do to help. Is there an address where we can send items? And what kind of items do you need?

Writing a check to the Red Cross is always an option, but we would like to help YOU NOW. So please let us know how.

Please take care!

Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers. I live in Carencro, LA and we got it pretty bad :-( Us personally lost our shed and 80% of its contents, our roof and air conditioner is messed up and our barn really needs some help. But at least we are alive and well and that's what insurance is for.:thumbsup2 There are still a lot of cities here without electricity, however, we are more than blessed to have ours already!!!

As a Red Cross employee, I agree!

It's AMAZING what they do. Although not in the news much, Gustav was a terrible, devasting storm. Gustav may cost RC around the $50,000,000 area and Ike will be even more. It costs a lot to feed and shelter that thousands of people. Every dollar counts. If you can give a dollar or ten thousand dollars, it is all appreciated and needed.

My other choices would be Salvation Army, Southern Baptist and others. All are great organizations and great partners.

Our Red Cross (Owensboro KY) just closed a shelter due to Hurricane Ike - Ky hit by a hurricane - who would have thought it! With Salvation Army and Red Cross we served about 9,000 meals for the 5 days most of our county was without power. We were also on stand-by for FEMA evacuees from La. prior to Gustav. All the while, working on helping victims of house fires.

I live in Jefferson County and I agree. In the town of Bridge City only 14 houses didn't flood. :sad2:
