I mostly miss the time with my dd 6 and 1/2 without distraction. We can do as we please, and always have so much fun. No phones ringing (oK sometimes I actually turn my cell phone off so grandma can't call for the 10th time) No real schedule, eat when we want and just have fun....No work, No school, no family drama.......

While there are other places we could get away, there is something magical about DL that makes these trips so enjoyable, I am not sure what it is...

The anticipation. It's so funny...the night before is almost like Xmas eve....you know it's going to be magical but you just don't know how magical until you wake up and see it right before your eyes.
Ok..and I'm a nutbar but I love the smell of POTC. Dork I know but there's no other place you can smell that......lol :rotfl:

I miss the family time too. Also not having to do dishes or cooking dinner or cleaning or laundry,etc...lol.

DH says he miss DL when he sees the new commercial and he sees the guy sweeping the hub.

I miss feeling like a crazy kid again. Most would say I'm childlike at home too but in DL I can be free to let the inner child out! No laundry, no chores, no cares and no distractions to take me away from my kids.

I miss the fact that I can dance in the street like a maniac with a funny hat on and it's accepted (well mostly!)

I miss the music. Everywhere there is great music that makes you feel like you have really escaped the realities of the world.

I miss the nostalgia feeling I get when I ride Peter Pan remembering it as a kid with my dad. (he died 2 years ago)

I miss the friendly people and smiles on everyones faces.

I miss the look on my kids faces when they see their favorite character or just walk through the gates for that matter.

I miss the churros, cotton candy and popcorn.

I miss working at WDW. DL always brings that back for me.

Yep, six straight days of family time. No work for dh. Going out with dh while my mom watches the kids (we always bring her and get her her own room). Six days of doing whatever we want, whenever we want.

We have no worries at DL. And I hear some people say that it's a fun vacation, but not "relaxing". For us, it really is both. We come home totally refreshed.

I should add that my mom and I get to go out together too, while dh watches the kids. Didn't want it to sound like we just bring her to babysit! LOL

Well I definately miss being somewhere that allows me to forget EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. Every care in the world is gone and nothing can go wrong.

I miss feeling like a child and hearing the music everywhere and hearing the ding ding ding of the train bell as the train pulls into mainstreet as we walk through the gates on a sunny morning.

I miss the odd smell of the water rides and seeing the caracters, and putting on pirate mickey ears and going to NOS and picking on the pirates who turn around and try to take your jewerly.

And I miss all the laughter I share with the people I go with as its the fun tension relief laugh which kind of bonds us as we know theres nothing to worry about except fitting in all the fun we wanted into a several days of slow paced relaxation.

One thing I really miss though is going to DCA and sitting in the Animation theature, closing my eyes and listening to the music. You see the big screens of disney movies playing around you, and it just overwhelms you by knowing that those movies are the reason you are there, they brought you there.

I miss how unbelievably well behaved my son was, and my baby sleeping through the night.
Having my DH hanging out with us for a whole week.
Watching my son have the time of his LIFE!!!!

I went once 10 years ago with family, a very short trip. But i know what i miss most.

THE CHURROS!! the cinnamon sugar sticks of goodness.

The thing I miss the most is the carefree fun and excitment I have when I walk through the gates of either DW or DL. The are no worries, just letting my hair down and having a good time that will give me lasting memories like when I get back home and the bills start coming in, the cat coughs up a fir ball on my new sofa, things like that

dont lie mystic...you know you went in there because of Hercules:lmao:

the thing I miss most about DL is Fantasmic...the people who wrote that are genious absolutely genious...I never get tired of watching or listening to it...I also love the fact that I can totally immerse myself in this magical place where fantasy is a daily way of life and you can totally leave reality behind:lovestruc

You mean other than BEING there, away from work, the SMILES on my grand-kids face??? I don't know.:confused3 Let me get back to you.:rolleyes1

I miss so much....

I miss the relaxed feeling I get in the morning knowing that I don't have to go to work and I can spend the whole day playing with my family.

I miss the fairy tale atmosphere:wizard:

I miss the walk down mainstreet and the oldtime shops

I miss seeing the characters and the smiling CMs

I miss the rides and the fun of being a kid again

I miss the excitement and smiles on my kids' faces when they walk through the gate.:yay:

I miss sitting on a park bench and watching the day go by without a care in the world....

Apparently I need to start planning another visit!! :hourglass It has been only 3 months and I am so sad!!!:sad1:

I miss that too! I love that area in Animations. Just to sit and relax and see all the clips is such a great way to spend some time. And hey, I never have seen Hercules in there, that would be the frosting on the cake!

I also miss the sounds and smells. The Riverboat, the train whistle, the popcorn/churros cart smells, Blue Ribbon Bakery smells. I love the different music they play in the lands. And like everyone else, I miss our family just having time to share it together without all the real life interruptions and drama. And I miss the Mickey wake up call I get at the DLH. What a way to start the day.:)

There's so many things that I miss... the list is truly endless. But the thing that tips the scale is definitely feeling like a kid again. That sense of magic is lost on us adults so much of the time, and being at DL, you almost travel back in time to when you believed in magic and fairy tales. It's like your innocence comes flooding back again... the wonder, the amazement, the sheer excitement of it all is so overwhelming. :wizard:

The list could go on forever! I love walking through the tunnels and seeing the attraction posters, and then stepping into Main Street. Every time we go we get breakfast at the Blue Ribbon Bakery and sit in Gibson Girl watching the happy families ready for their day of magic at the Happiest Place on Earth!! :cloud9:

I miss Fantasia ice cream, I miss a magical stage play or live musical onstage at the Fantasyland Theater and I miss good jazz bands, dancing Grand Marshalls, the fun Mime and the funny Mayor of New Orleans Square.
