What do you LOVE about DL and DCA!!

...and I love planning my next trip!!!

The goat trick is a long-time honored tradition over at Mouseplanet. Basically, when you see the goat on BTMRR, you keep your eyes on it as you go down the hill and around the corner. It gives me huge butterflies in my tummy and makes my head spin.

As far as my special secret spot to watch Fantasmic -- well, I can't give the exact location, but I'll tell you that it's somewhere right in front of the Rivers of America. ;) :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Ooh I'll have to try the goat trick next time lol. I like saying that, "the goat trick".
As for the secret spot - I'll find it...somewhere right in front of the rivers of america....I'll find it...just like I'll find Albort...

...and I love planning my next trip!!!

oooh me too.
And I love bragging to everyone that I'm going to DL again
I love skipping down mainstreet and not caring because I'm usually not the only adult skipping down mainstreet
I love trying to find all the penny pressing machines and then asking the cms for all the shiniest pennies they have in exchange for my dull ones.
I love text messaging pictures to my family from DL
and I love all the queues to every ride especially Indiana Jones.

Oh yes I love taking pictures with my cell phone and trying to find the best one for my new wallpaper! The little things make me happy!

I love the tree over the queue at the Alice Ride!!!

I love the different flowers as you walk around. I never really noticed these but dh is obsessed with landscaping and points them out and it has really become a fun thing we do.

I love the baby care center and the nice wonderful ladies who work in it! I love the little potties they have there that helped potty train my son!

Fantasmic tip........

Light towers, they go UP ;)

Sooo, I bet you got a great view from up there! :rotfl2:

lol, in addition the great view she probably got a hot bum.

My bum is HOT all the time, hubby told me so;)

You all look like tiny ants in my perfect birds eye view location.

I stand by my tip , we never have waited more than 30 minutes for a primo Fantasmic! spot.

Light Towers... don't have one? Get one!!!

Oh my goodness - everyone wrote so MUCH. I DO love a lot too but I can simply say the details...and the music.

I love to open my eyes & see the tiniest of details under the most minute conditions. The inlay work on the doorjam in the crystal shop near PotC....the hidden Mickeys....the music that fits so perfectly with the area.

Details details details!!!

Well there are loads of stuff that I love about each park as I will name in just a second, but the one thing that gets me extremely emotional about the parks is that you become a child as you enter the gates, and no worry in the world exists. No bills, no work, no family problems, no violence, regret etc. Once you enter those gates you receive a piece of mind.

Now what do I enjoy!

DISNEYLAND

- The happy faces and exciting voices as you look at the people waiting to enter the park or parks
- The sun hitting the train station and the train pulling in and you hear the bell ding, ding, ding and the horn tooting as it arrives.
- Smelling the fresh presure washed pavement and smells of the entrance queue
- Hearing the entrance queue music
- Reading the sign at the entrance "Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy". Thats the most truthful sign ever
- The characters meeting or siteings
- Walking into the Mainstreet Stores and smelling the "Oldness" of the buildings
- The Bussling on mainstreet and the Street entertainers
- The fresh smells of the Blue Ribbon Bakery
- Hearing the first sounds of the parade as it comes around the corner
- Watching the fireworks, and seeing Tinkerbell fly around the castle... That makes me cry every time
- The anticipation you get as you go on Splash mountain wanting to know how wet you will get
- Screaming in the Haunted Mansion elevator and running back and forth at the statue heads that follow you before you get on the doom buggies
- The smell of the water rides in Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash
- Exploring the caves on Tom Sawyers Island
- Interacting with the Pirates in NOS
- Going to Fantasyland and driving my parents to hell and back on Mr. Toads wild ride LOL
- Lounging on Goofys couch in toon town or trying to steal his little green car that you can sit in
- Watching children light up as they see their favorite character
- Talking to people in ride lineups to hear about their adventures in the parks
- Churros and Frozen bananas
- Cafe Orleans
- The Indiana Jones Queue and ride
- Standing by the water in NOS at night watching all the lights and the excited happy people in the park
- Sending my Buzz Lightyear score pic to my email addie
- Getting pictures of me and my travellers going down Splash Mountain or other rides who have the photo options

DCA

- Closing my eyes and hearing the music in the queue for Soarin
- Taking my shoes off and leaning forward on Soarin
- Sitting on the lilly pad in Turtle Talk with Crush (Im a big kid)
- Over Dubbing my voice in the Animation studio
- Walking through Belles library and taking the test to see which Disney character I am. I have always been Tinkerbell
- Resting my feet in the animation studio as I watch all the screens change to different movies
- Going under ground for the "Bugs Life" 3d show, putting on the bug glasses and pretending to be a bug
- Muppets 3D queue was a blast. So was the show Seeing Marley and Marley was a highlight of my trip
- Watching people's reaction as they go down the grizzley river run
- Block Party Bash was fun to get into
- Watching the Fireflies in the Bayou as you start your POTC ride adventure
- Pin shopping in the little pin shop down by Paradise Pier
- Watching the Aladdin Musical
- Eating soup in a bread bowl and tossing my bread bowl bits to the hundreds of little birdies who fly all around

Im sure Im forgetting a ton, but this is good for now

I also want to commend the CM's. It's fun to chat with them and they really do care how your day is going. They are awesome and I hope they keep up the good work of spreading pixie dust! :wizard:

I love this thread! There are so many things to love about DL/DCA, where to start ....

I LOVE ...

the coconut macaroons, no where else are they better.

that even though I had never been to DL before I was 30, I still felt like a kid when DH took me for the first time, and have continued to every time since. :wizard:

the smells of Main Street USA

being one of the last people out of the park at night. Walking hand in hand with DH as we slowly make our way from Critter Country to the gates.

the way DH also turns into an even bigger kid than he usually is.

every ride there ... including IASW:goodvibes

how the JC skippers tell some of the same jokes each time I ride ...
"it's the back of water!!":rotfl:

getting a pineapple spear after having a dole whip :)

Soarin' :cloud9:

the CM's who have always been helpful and friendly. They do a great job, even with the little things.:cool1:

There is so much more to love, but I really need to get to bed! I really just love being at DL with DH. It doesn't matter what we are doing, just being there together I am a very happy content person :cloud9:

Okay, somebody tell me how in the world have I missed these coconut macaroons? I take it they are at Blue Ribbon Bakery? I go there pretty much every day of every trip and have not gotten them yet? I will now be thinking of macaroons until June when I arrive at Disneyland and can get me some of those!

I haven't tried the coconut macaroons yet either. They sound really good.
Another thing I love about DL is how I can spend hours in any of the stores just playing with the toys and the cms will come over and play with me instead of telling me to buy something.
I also love playing with all their mr. potato head stuff.

lol, I'm not surprised. Dh offered to buy me one but I said no because they're only fun in DCA with all the different accessories. It's just not the same at home.
I also love getting ice cream at DL and watching them make the waffle cones while waiting in line.

I love the dole whips, pin trading (times like a million), Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion, POTC and the smell of POTC

We bought TWO boxes of Mr. Potato Head parts, and the kids play with them almost every day. :thumbsup2

I love Dole Whips!
I love watching DS2's happy smile on the Winnie the Pooh ride.
I love the thrilled expression in the photo from DS6's first ride on Splash Mountain.

I loved getting a bit scared as a 'cannonball' puff of air whizzed through my hair on Pirates! :scared1:
I loved the breathtaking views on Soarin', and loved that I could share it with DS6.
I loved the thrills on the Indiana Jones ride.

I loved the amazing fireworks display.
I loved watching my kids interact with characters, and how the CMs in costume really embodied the character. They were so wonderful!
I love watching my DH become a kid again, and feeling like one myself.

I love the fact that, 7 months later, my kids are still talking about their first Disneyland trip, and asking when we can go back! :thumbsup2 :happytv:

I love pushing the slanted stick in the Indiana Jones line to get that "CRASH" noise in the room with the spikes on the ceiling :teeth:

I do like it when the birds sing words and the flowers croon in the Tikki Tikki Tikki Tikki Tikki Room!! :teeth: I just feel bad when Jose calls a male CM senorita! :lmao:

I love going to the Pooh store down in Critter Country. They have wonderful treats and I dig the gray colored candy apple with Eeyore's tail! :goodvibes

I love shopping in the stores in Fantasyland. princess:

Another couple for me

I love the mouse crossing holes on Autopia and the off road section!

I love that oriental chicken salad in Pizza Port

I love Disney clothiers!

I love sending my picture on Buzz home to family even though I have not beaten dh yet!! :rotfl:

I love buying stuff that I can only get in DL and then I have no use for it when I get home - like the glow necklaces
I love buying all mickey attire and wearing it when I'm in the park
I love the wet ball thing by space mountain and how irresistable it is to try to stop it from spinning
