What do you like to get from Room Service?

We would order breakfast every morning. It was our wake up call for the day. We ordered a carafe of coffee, a couple of pastries and a fruit bowl and enjoyed on the verandah before heading for "real" breakfast.
We ordered a couple of all hands on deck platters while we were getting dressed for the show (we had late seating) and sometimes late at night to enjoy with a glass of wine on the verandah while kids slept.
I ordered cookies for the kids once but they were very hard and the kids didn't like them. We also didn't like the chicken wings, they were salty and mushy. I tipped $1/item ordered.

This is exactly what I plan on doing!!! Although, I don't think we will do a "real" breakfast on quite a few days.

We have ordered Mickey Bars in the past. Have read about people ordering cookies (warmed?) and Mickey bars; they then put the Mickey bar between the cookies for an ice cream sandwich. Gonna try that this time.

Oooooh! That is a good idea!!! We need to try that!

Does anyone know if they still do the salmon and orzo with lemon drizzle, I didn't see it on the new menu. It's my favorite!

So do you pay for these items from room service?

There are some items that have a fee, such as soda since it is served in cans, but most everything people have mentioned in this thread are free. Or perhaps I should say they are included in your cruise fare. The items which have a fee are marked as such.

From what I understand, most items are included with the cruise fare, but some items are not. Mickey bars, cheese platter, etc are included.. A tip to the person delivering room service is suggested, ~$2 from what I've gleaned on the message boards.

Somewhere in this thread is a picture of the room service menu. :-)

As for tipping I tip by the items ordered, as many posters stated I tip per item if I order 4 things I tip 4 dollars. that is cheap cheap for room service

Wow 2nd breakfast : )

My daughter and friend last cruise PIGGED out on room service while my wife and myself went to Palo.
There were 2 trays full of atleast 4 plates each, when we got to the room they were passed out in a food coma.

It was gluttony at its best, its fine these are 2 extremely thin 13 year olds : )

Generally,

Left side is included in cruise fare.
Right side, you pay extra for.

The menu posted above is not quite correct. It is the version which was introduced at the start of the year and did not include the All Hands on Deck Platter. Due to the uproar regarding the changes, DCL reversed course and added the AHOD back onto the menu, blaming a "printing error" . I believe they also added the chicken wings back to the menu but my memory is a little fuzzy on that. The posted menu picture is a good demonstration of "free" versus "fee" items though.

Ok so there is a cheese platter besides the one listed above?

Yes it was updated...but more up to date than the normal ones quoted.

Yes, the one listed above is the $38 version which is normally available through In Room Gifts and Amenities. There is a free version called the All Hands on Deck. It's much smaller, but still has a nice assortment of cheeses. And I'll take free over $38 any day!

You are correct that your version is more up to date than others, but since so many people in this thread have mentioned ordering the AHOD platter I wanted to point out that there is another update to the menu which includes that. Otherwise those reading who weren't around for the "Great Cheese Debacle of 2016" wouldn't be aware that DCL acquiesced to guest pressure and is still offering the free cheese plate.

This thread has been great for me! I was planning on ordering the fruit and cheese plate when I ordered my rainforest pass before the cruise.
Saved money :) Thanks!

So okay what you guys are all telling me, is to make sure we order the mickey bars, AHOD plates, coffee in a carafe, mac & cheese for my 5 yr old, grilled cheese and tomato soup just because, I could go on. :teeth:
