What do you leave in the stroller?

Leaving for our first trip as adults in 2 weeks. We will have our 2 boys (5yrs, 18mo) with us. Trying to figure out what we will take on rides/attractions and what we will leave in stroller. So confused. Don't want to haul all our stuff in everywhere we go, but also don't want anything to disappear. Suggestions? We will obviously have all diaper bag items and probably another backpack with other stuff in the stroller.

Any helpful stroller/bag packing suggestions welcome!

Wise travelers know to not leave anything you can't easily replace. Strollers can disappear or somehow empty while you're enjoying your attraction. Put the "can't lose" stuff in the backpack and take that into the attraction with you.

When we went at the end of August with our double stroller, we left everything but valuables (cell phones, money, credit cards, room keys, etc.) in the stroller and it was never touched. Occasionally our stroller got reparked by CMs, but otherwise no problems. :)

My niece left her Coach Diaper Bag in a stroller at Disneyland. Who would steal something at the happiest place on earth? Security said four coach bags were reported stolen that day. hullo?

My sleeping child so we can ride the bigger rides that she can't go on.

Have a great time!

I've read here that strollers are periodically vandalized or stollen, but in our MANY trips to WDW, with extended family and often multiple strollers, it has never happened to us. (nor at any other amusement parks)

Even with a stroller, we tend to pack light. We have found that the best course of action.

Mostly we only leave non valuables in the stroller- bottled water, one day supply of diapers/wipes, maybe a change of baby pants, jackets, stroller rain cover or plastic poncho as makeshift rain cover.

If you can, on your person, carry all forms of money, ONE diaper, tiny quantity of wipes, tiny hand sanitizer, ID, camera, cell phone, emergency meds, and other essentials. (for the guys, cargo shorts are great- they can carry about half these items for you! esp water)

There are times when you will have to park the stroller outside a pavillion - think Epcot- but you'll be in that pavillion fo a while- so being able to change a diaper without having to go all the way back to the stroller parking area is handy. Conversely, we don't want to lug around ANYTHING extra. Extra stuff reduces your endurance.

Once the kids are out of diapers, we pretty much only put water and maybe sweaters/jackets/rain jackets in the stroller. Oh - and non-valuable stuff we've bought. Oh - and once in a while- flip flops for riding Kali RR.

One thing that you may find handy is a way to make your stroller STAND OUT fomr teh rest- stickers are bright, inexpensive, and often tricky to remove. You can also tie (knot!) something BRIGHT around the handle to make it stand out - and hard to steal. You willl want to do that if your stroller is a common stroller color (blue, grey) and/or very expensive, and/or brand new, and /or a very common brand, etc. If there's any temptation to steal - I figure it's going to be the most expensive newer strollers, in neutral colors. At least that's my way of thinking.

That and a small child could be tempted to walk off with an obvious stuffed animal. If you have any toys that are irreplacable from a sentimental pov, I wouldn't bring those with you either. Almost any gift shop will give a shopping bag, we hide toys in a bag to reduce that sort of temptation.

Over the years we have been to trusting and I guess lucky that nothing has ever been stolen more than what we lost last year. They took my grandsons pin from MK that was his first visit pin. If they would take a childs pin off the stroller what else would someone take?

I wouldn't leave anything in your stroller that you would be upset to lose. Will stuff get stolen? Probably not, but the real world sometimes has a way of creeping into Disney.

I kept a bag of important stuff...glasses, wallet, phone etc and that came on every ride with me. The only stuff left in the stroller were drinks and maps. I did have a nice rain cover on it too and I was scared it might get stolen, but nobody ever touched it!

We don't have children. We carry a backpack. Would you suggest that we leave the backpack on the ground amongst the strollers and expect it to be there upon return?

I would leave nothing in your stroller. It's an invitation for anyone who wants whatever you've left.

I leave things in my stroller all the time. Aside from the diaper bag that I take into the parks, I wear a cross body bag that has anything of importance as well as a diaper and some wipes. Usually the diaper bag is left in the stroller. I never take one that I would've upset to lose or mess up. This time will be the freebie from the hospital. I usually leave a change of clothes, snacks, drinks, and the rest of the diapers and wipes in it. Nothing that would ruin my trip to lose. I always have plenty of extras at the resort to restock so it would just inconvenience me for a couple of hours. Any purchases made in the parks go with us to wherever we are going. The only exception is when we have a wheelchair with us. Then everything is left on it for the duration of the ride as it is left at the loading/unloading area.

We are going next week (first trip with a child) and I'm planning on leaving sippy cups, diapers, wipes, etc- in the stroller. And I got a Vera Bradley small 9"x12" backpack that I'm taking dd's epipen, my kttw card, camera, etc.- anything that I can't easily replace.

Third Disney trip just completed all three we have had the stroller we start our day with a cooler backpack which holds drinks for the day, a backpack with autograph books snacks and usually a camera (this yr I got a fancy one so it was around my neck a good bit) my husband and I carry the awesome fanny packs for our cards and cash I stuff anything we buy into the backpack and leave it all in the stroller why we r riding. I only took out the camera. Knock on wood we have never had a problem

Never leave anything unattended that you would not want to be forced to try and replace. Theft can and does happen at Disney. Honestly, I think it would be a grand place for a thief even with the ticket prices. With how trusting people are they could get a great haul in no time. Just because it is Disney does not mean the outside world can't get in.

I guess I don't understand these questions. Would you just leave your bag unattended anywhere else?

Same experience the last 7 years we have gone. Have even accidentally left cellphones in the stroller and have lost nothing.

Yeah, but who would really want a crummy old back pack left on the ground?

Honestly, if I see an abandoned backpack these days, I'd be more inclined to think that whatever was left inside is maybe best left alone.

We've been to WDW many times over 40 years. Twice we've lost pocketbooks. One was long ago, but the other was in 2010. Both times we got the bags back with all the contents. I'm not saying this is always going to be the case.

I don't want anyone else's plastic poncho, used water bottle, stuffed Mickey, spare diapers, baby bibs, squashed granola bar, or even their cell phone.

Don't leave ANYTHING that you would be heartbroken to find gone. Most times it is safe, but Disney is still the real world and thieves DO make off with stuff at Disney ( people are on vacation and have their guards left down)

Napkins and a poncho and nothing else.

I am always flabbergasted to see cameras, phones and iPods left in strollers. People seriously have a very false sense of security around the mouse.

We have other stuff that we put in the stroller (not much as we pack very lightly), but we even carry our snack bag around with us and don't leave that in the stroller either.

We have a Chico umbrella stroller. In the basket of the stroller, we leave the following:

A clear bag w/ a plastic stroller cover in it

A clear gallon-size Ziploc bag w/ 3 diapers, 1 travel-size packet of wipes, & 1 change of shorts for our younger DS

A clear gallon-size Ziploc bag w/ our 3 autograph books & a pen

2 bottles of water

The clear bags are to make it easier to get through bag checks. I also have a crossbody bag & a pin lanyard that I keep w/ me.

Nothing in our stroller has ever been bothered. However, this last trip, we had a scare!

We left our stroller in the stroller parking area between The Land & The Seas at EPCOT. We were in both places for quite a while, &, when we came out of The Land to get the stroller, I couldn't find it. I'm used to the castmembers moving the strollers around as strollers come & go, so, at first, I wasn't too worried. I kep looking though, & still couldn't find it. I told DH & he looked it & couldn't find it either. I then told the castmember in the area who started helping us look. He couldn't find it either, & he found another castmember who also began to search.

I was more worried about our autograph books than the stroller! The autograph books had 2 years worth of autographs!

Finally, our stroller was found - it had somehow been pushed in between 2 larger strollers front to back, so, instead of being in the line w/ the other strollers, it was squashed between the strollers, if that makes sense.

Whew!!! It definitely made me rethink leaving the autograph books.
