I just found a banner that linked to Verizon DSL. I have never heard of it. Has anyone used it??

That is my ISP. So far, I've been satisfied with it but then I've only had it since July. My only other major experience with Internet connection and speed was through my previous employer... and we had a full T-1 connection. My connection isn't, of course, as fast but it seems pretty good compared to what I've seen when I tried to use my sister's dial-up service.

BTW - Verizon, at least the wireline phone service provider, was formerly known bt a few names in different parts of the country. The one I know for sure was GTE. Like so many of the big communications companies in the US, there have been so many name changes, mergers, subsidiaries, etc. of Verizon that I don't know much more than that.

I've had Verizon DSL since April and had no problem, had dail up before so it is much faster. I went with Verizon - 1. because it was cheaper than cable, 2. I was already with MSN so when I switched to Verizon they are apart of MSN so I didn't have to change my e-mail address. 3. Verizon also give you a discount when you have long distance and local calling plan with them.
Have had no problems, I only used there support a couple times in the begining to get connected and it was excellent. I like it very much.

LOVE my Verizon DSL. I had it before I moved then went back to dial up. I missed it so much I went right back.Plus I couldnt stand AOL much longer.I have a very old and slow pc and had some connectivity problems at first but their support was great and they worked with me till I was up and running.

I just installed Verizon DSL last night, so I'm soooo new to it. Its alittle faster, but, I'm not all that impressed. I don't know anything about it, I have to research it alot more to really decide if I'm going to keep it or not. I still have aol, because I don't know how to transfer any of my saved stuff over to msn. So, I'm paying 29.99 for verizon and 14.99 for aol.

I have had it for just about a year and really really love it! It's nice having the phone lines open all the time and the speed can't be beat. Since it's teamed up with MSN Premium, it is so user friendly. :hyper:

I have it and love it! It's fast and our phone line is always open! Spam filters prevent junk mail from clogging your mailbox and the price is great!

We've had it in NJ for about three, maybe even four years now. Works great.

I have dial up, but I really want to switch to Verizon DSL. Is it difficult to set it up yourself?

I've had it at home for at least 2 years now, and love it.
The set up is very easy, and I think they are (or were) running a promotion to get a free wireless/wired network router, so you can set up more than one computer.
It's nice, we have 3 comuters in the house, and can run all three on the internet at once, while talking on the phone, and they all work great.

No it is not hard to set up, very good instructions on line support very good if you need them they will walk you thru the setup.

I got it 2 or 3 weeks ago, it's very easy to setup. They send you a CD that walks through each step.

Has anyone had a problem with it after a power failure? Our electricity went out overnight and when I tried to logon this morning, I could not connect. I tried powering it off, disconnecting the phone line, reboot. I didn't have much time to play with it because I had to go to work, I'll have to try again tonight. At the time of the power failure, my computer was off but my modem was still on.

Update: I had to call Verizon and they were very helpful. They had to reset my modem.

All of this is very helpful. We have Earthlink dial up and I am not happy with it. There is only 1 dial up number in our area. I want DSL but DH doesn't want to pay $50 a month for it. **sigh** I also have equipment to set our computers up on a wireless network but I have not read the instructions to figure out how to set it up.

Does anyone else have Verizon DSL and a home wireless network? Opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!
