What do you keep your AC set at? (inspired by Binny's blinds ?)

70. I guess we are "warm" people here!;) Although DH was just complaining how much colder it was upstairs than downstairs, even though the AC temps are exactly the same on both levels!!!!

Usually 72-71. In FL when I had tile throughout the entire house, I set it on 76 as the lowest temp. Sometimes 78. Now I have carpeting...I'm AMAZED how much hotter 76 and 78 feel! Blech!

68 if I can sneak that by my dh. In the winter I lower the temp :)

Wow! I really must be getting used to the hot desert temps.

I just went and checked ours because I was too cold - it was at 80 I bumped it up to 82 which is where I generally keep it. DH does tend to sneak it down a little when he's at home.

I'd have to bring my sweatshirt if I came to hang out with some of you who keep it in the 60's. Brrr

I guess it's all relative though - when it's 105 outside, 82 inside feels downright chilly.

Speaking of A/C, I had to turn the furnace on here this morning. It was 67 in the house and too cold for me. I don't recall ever running the furnace at the end of June before here! The last few months here in the mid-west have been crazy! It was in the mid '40s outside last night!

Well, this thread makes me feel a little better. DH is "El Cheapo", and he works outside the home, so he sets the thermostat at 80. That's fine, but me and the boys are home most of the day, so we get a little warm. So when DH isn't around, I bump it down to about 74, which will stay there for 2 hours before resetting back to a miserable 80. It has been VERY humid here with all this rain, so even when it is comfortable tempwise, we need the A/C going to keep the humidity down. 80 degrees is just TOO warm down here in SC......:crazy2:

Our AC is set at 70 - if it goes above that I get a little miffed as I like it cold. I have an easier time cuddling up with a blanket if I get a little chilly, rather than trying to cool myself off if I get a tad warm.

I prefer arctic conditions inside :-) I even open the windows during the day when it is winter time - nice cool breeze :-)

I haven't turned the AC on yet this year. The highest temp day here in Baltimore was only 92 or so, no need for AC. :) To tell the truth I'm still running my heater at night. It gets down into the 60s outside some nights and I want it at least 80 in my house.

I can't stand going over some peoples houses. They set thiers at 70 or lower. Why? Just enjoy the heat. We dont get enough of it.

BTW I may save alot in my bill during the summer months but then I still set my heat to 80 in the winter so I guess it all evens out.

72 degrees here. We lived in Texas for a few years and we set it at 78 then. When it's 100 everyday for 6 months, 78 feels chilly! Plus the electric bills were so high.

80 is WAY to warm for me....I can't stand falling asleep sweating and that is what would happen if I had mine set for 80. Even at work our A/C is set at 62...in the winter I keep the heat set on 66-68...anything over that is to hot....

DH keeps it at 64. We have 3 zones, so if I get cold which I often do I can go into another part of the house and turn up the air!

Downstairs we keep it at 70 all the time , Master Bedroom is downstairs . Upstairs ( the kids rooms are up there) they keep it at 73 all the time .

We are in Texas and it is so hot you cant breathe sometimes ::yes::

Winter time the kids keep it about 75 and we dont use the heater at night downstairs at night. Dh and I like it chilly we just through a blanket on top of our comforter .

OMG! I live outside of Baltmore in Pasadena and anything in the 80s is too hot for me. We keep our air on 68 day and 66 night. I do not enjoy heat unless I'm sitting by the pool drinking a pina colada! LOL!
