What do you keep the thermostat at during the summer?

We have a geothermal system and are all electric here. We also live in the extremely hot and humid deep South. I try to keep it at 77, but it will go down to 76 at night becuse I can't sleep in the heat!

25 during the day, 26 at night. We like to open the windows up after 9pm and it *rarely* gets over 20 at nighttime. It we are in the midst of a crazy heatwave then I just do a manual override on our thermostat.

For you Yanks, that's 77 during the day :), 79 at night.

I used to keep it at 78, but this year the heat is really bothering me, so I set it for 76 during the day and 74 at night.

77 at night. 78 in the day except when I'm working in the shop--then I drop it down to 75 or 76 in there because I'm such a hot chick. ;)

74 during the day, and at night. 70 in the morning between 5-8 am while we are getting ready and then 70 again after 5 pm while we are cooking.

78 and we rarely use the a/c unless it gets over 90 during the day. Most nights we tun it off and open the windows.

78 in the day but 73 at night or my DH can't sleep & that's bad for everyone! (our house is not efficient & upstairs bedrooms are hot!

78...we have a programmable thermostat and the temp does vary depending on our schedules....but never, ever lower than 78

Off here in WA :rotfl:

In AZ, DD has it set at 80 which is a bit warm for me. I think when we move it will go to 77 during the day (that is what DS has his set at) and maybe a tad lower at night.

We usally keep ours at 68 - 70! At night it must be at 68 or lower, if we are going to be gone all day I will put it up to 72. In the winter we also keep the heat at about 68 or 70. My DH and myself can not stand to be warm! That is why we could never live in a warm climate, it's got hot enough here in Michigan.

Ours is currently at 72 at all times. If it is cool enough we open windows but both my mom and I have asthma so if it gets too hot we need the air on.

Our thermostat has been off since the beginning of April. There is no need to have the heat on during the summer except for hot water, especially since the main floor can get as hot as 85 degrees (only our bedrooms upstairs have AC) . We won't need to put the heat up until October/November when our thermostat says about 65.

We keep it at 78 day and night. No people home during the day but my 2 hairless dogs can't handle anything warmer.

Even at 78, it will run nonstop here once temps get over 100 which is almost every day in July and August.

We also turn our thermostat off during the summer. We'll probably turn it on again in October, later if we can stand it.

The A/C is set on 76 all day and night with all ceiling fans on full blast. We are trying to keep the power bill a little lower than in years past when we would set it on 70.

In the winter, the heat goes no higher than 62. I am the only one home most of the day, and I am pretty warm-natured. We have blankets available on all chairs, sofas, etc, electric blankets to sleep under, and if we get too cool, we can sit in front of the fireplace for a while.

72 for the a/c and 68 when the heat is on. I will kick the heat up to 70 when we first get up in the moring. We get up early (5 am) and it is COLD in our bedroom and bathroom.
