We are DVC owners and I was wondering if anyone out there uses the Owners locker service.? If so what do you keep in it? Do you or can you keep clothes like Jeans and a sweatshirt....
Do you ever need to check luggage? Please help with our decision to join...

I love the convenience of having owner's locker. I do not stay DVC. I have toiletries, full size hair brush, pop up hamper, laundry soap, dryer sheets, spray fans, ponchos, battery charger for cell phone, charger for camera(s), small (5"x7") cutting board, small paring knife, scissors, flip flops, .... and more... the only clothes I have is a swim suit cover up.

I do still check a suitcase but can do just 2 bags for our family of 5.

Before I had owner's locker I used to do just 1 checked bag but I would send a box or 2 of that stuff plus some clothes. Now I don't have to deal with the shipping.

We keep the following items in our OL:
Laundry Soap, stain stick
Wireless router
Rum
hamper
some basic toiletries
salt & Pepper
Food (non perishables)
small first aid kit
ponchos
power strip (2)
George Forman Grill
small crock pot

That is all I can think of without pulling up my spreadsheet.

I love our OL!

We just joined & love it! We have a ton of stuff in ours:

Deodorant
Full size shampoo, conditoner, lotion, shaving cream, toothpaste
Razor blades
Comb
Brush
Moisturizer
Body Wash
Ponchos
Wireless router
Plastic plates & cups (We stay in a studio most times & they only have paper products)
Laundry bag

You could certainly keep clothes in it, but we do not. We still have a bag for clothes but it's nice knowing we have all our toiletries waiting for us!

I think I am going to finally sign up for the Owners lockers. I hate lugging all of the same stuff back and forth it's driving me crazy.

We LOVE,LOVE,LOVE our locker! We only bring carry on luggage, no need for even the quart size baggies to declare anymore. I have full size hairspray, brushes, make-up, my junk drawer(scissors, tape, deck of cards, etc.), night lights, laundry soap, dryer sheets, tin foil, plastic wrap, baggies, spices as well as everything listed by pp's. We share it w/ my brother, since we mostly travel together. When we travel other places w/him, he jokes "now remember, there's no Owner's Locker waiting for us"!

Love my Owner's locker. If you search, you'll find lots of threads on this subject over on the DVC boards.

I think the # 1 thing to keep in there is a pair of scissors.

Some things that you might not see on other people's lists:

- a small alarm clock, because I can't figure out the iPod Home thingies.

- a tap light (put it on the night stand and hit it when you need some light). It's a lot easier than trying to figure out how to turn on a strange lamp in the dark.

If you log in to the DVC member site there is a link you can follow to sign up for Owners Locker that gives you 20% off of the "sign up" fee...I THINK it's 20% - I could be wrong.

I DO know that there is a discount though :cool1:

I have 2 Owner's Lockers and I love them! We have had them for about 3 years now and the service is fantastic! We keep all kinds of stuff in them like:

Sheets(two queen size sets)
Blankets(2 queen size fleece)
Beach Bag(to use to hold our stuff for days at the pool)
PJ's
Bathing suits
Chargers for Phones
Medicines
Kids sand toys
Kids activity books, coloring pages, crayons, etc
All our toiletries like shampoos, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc
A couple pairs of shorts
Flip Flops
Laundry detergant
Hair brush and acessories
Cleaning items like Clorox wipes
Fabreeze
Lysol
Ponchos
Ziplock Bags
Straws
Sewing Kit
Razors
Lint Brush
Qtips
Female Products
First Aid
Antibacterial Wipes
Batteries
Pin collections
Mickey Ear Hats

And to answer your question, no we never check bags. There are four of us and we each have a carryon. The kids have a small bag each for their games and stuff for the plane. DH and I each have a small bag to put the Ipad, Kindle, and other personal items like money, resservation information, etc...

I live locally, so don't need owner's locker, but I have read reports of people who actually have "Disney Clothes" that they keep in an Owner's locker. They come with just the clothes on their backs and a small carry on. They wear their "Disney Clothes" during the week at WDW. Do a load of laundry before leaving, pack the purple box with their "Disney Clothes", and wear their "Traveling Outfits" back home.

I just have one last question,... do you pay the one time membership fee and the 99.00 payment at the same time?
