I'm not sure I really want a veil anymore...I want to wear my hair down, with a "mini tiara" sort of...nothing too huge and flashy...but would it be really strange if I didn't wear one at all, even for the ceremony?

I think it would look funny to go without a veil only if you had nothing at all in your hair to decorate it. Just my opinion, but what I personally think looks funny is when a bride wears the veil but puts the blusher behind her head and doesn't use it to cover her face. I can understand why, though: I wanted to be able to see my husband very clearly when I walked down the aisle!

Just to give you some info, I didn't wear a veil; I had flowers in my hair. I didn't want to cover my hair because I like it (it's shiny and curly) and my dress was very gauzy with many layers of chiffon, so it kinda was like a big veil itself! So my shoulder-length hair was pinned back at the sides with the flowers stuck in the sides and back. My dress was off-the-shoulder, and it looked better with my hair down. I thought about a tiara instead, but I was getting married in a conservatory so I thought I'd go floral. Only the salesgirl who was pushing $200 veils thought I should wear one!

Many brides remove the veil after the ceremony anyway, if not most. Maybe you could do that, if you're unsure which way to go? You can certainly do a veil and tiara with a removable veil.

I didn't wear a veil for my first marriage and I had my hair down in curls with a tiara and it looked great - almost very regal. I thought it looked great and I'm pretty sure it will with you too. This is your wedding and it has to be carried out your way and therefore you have to feel comfortable. I think you should go without veil if that's what you want to do.

I agree with FS. If you don't want anything on your head, don't do it, it is your wedding and will look great, no matter what you pick. Just a tiara is great too, simple elegance they call it!

I personally don't think wearing nothing at all is a big deal, I have seen that many of times. I have also seen brides who wear their hair down, and had those tiny little jewels placed here and there in their hair, so you see them, but you don't see them, just a small sparkle in the light. It was georgeous. That might be something to think about!

Good idea jennycee! I did my hair for my proms with those jewels back in the day...I still think I'm going to have a small tiara (probably only 1inch). I don't want a large one...I just don't know how well a veil would do with a tiara. The jewels with that might be a little over the top...I guess I'll just have to try it out.

I have had the same thoughts about the veil. I have decided to go without and just wear my hair down with some curls and a tiara!!

As of a couple of weeks ago, I wasn't going to wear a veil either-then I put one on with my dress and now I can't decide. It was so pretty and really made me feel like a bride. In the end I probably won't go with one, just because I want to save some money, but I would definitely say to try one on before you make your final decision. I love the ones that go underneath the "bun with a crown" They really top it off.princess:

i actually picked out a tiara and seperate veil. I wasn't going to wear a veil but when i tried on the tiara with the veil it was too beautful to resist. So at thr reception, I will take the veil off and just wear the tiara. princess:

I certainly don't think it would look the slightest bit odd if you didn't wear a veil. I think a tiara in a simple curled hairdo is lovely and very elegant.

That being said, I will admit that wearing my veil really made me feel like a bride. I actually had 2 veils (one was detachable) so I could wear a long one for the ceremony and keep the short one on for the reception. I had my tiara on top, then a bun made of curls, then the veils attached in my hair below the bun. They didn't get in my way at all, and I liked the way they made me feel "bridal." Of course, there are tons of other things that made me feel like a bride too, so don't worry if you don't want a veil!

I have both a tiara (borrowed from my sister, who is my MOH) and a elbow-lenght, two layer veil. I will wear the tiara until I can't stand it anymore, but my veil is coming off as soon as the ceremony photos are over.

I personally think that the most important thing on your wedding day is to feel beautiful and comfortable.

I didn't wear a veil and just wore a sequined headband with ribbion wrapped around it to match bm's dresses. I'd at least suggest trying on a veil with your dress and see how you feel but like everyone else says it's a personal choice.

I didn't wear a veil either, I wanted one less thing to have to decide on:)

If you're looking for a head piece, this company is great, and less than what I found in the bridal salons (although I've also seen great deals on ebay). I liked how you could customize them
