we're doing 2 ts meals a day - some buffets some breakfasts or lunch and only a couple fall in the dinner time

i'm thinking about $150 a day for 2 adults and a child and we'll prob bring yogurt and granola bars for the days we have late breakfasts or breakfast and dinner but no lunch.

dd doesnt' eat hardly anything

is that about right or not enough?

For that much I'd really consider the Deluxe Dining Plan. It's a little more than your budgeting but it will also give you two snacks and three meals for every night of your stay. On the DXDP your meal credits are good for table service and counter service. I'd really consider it (if you're staying at a Disney resort).

ya we're staying on site

it would cost about 180 a day for the dddp - i'm just not sure we would eat that much.

maybe i should take a look at the menu's and see. i was basing it on 75 per table service be it buffet or menu

we've already booked our hotel - can we add the dddp?

i know when we stay with dvc we can upto 2 days before arrival but i didn't think you could staying on cash

How old is your child? That will make a big difference.

We always get the DDP (1 CS, 1 TS and 1 snack). We keep our receipts and total them at the end of the day and we are always at $120-$150 and it is just 2 adults.
So with you doing 2 TS meals, with a child I think you are not estimating enough.

Personally if you are really going for 2 TS the DxDDP is probably the way to go. JMO

she's 4 and doesn't eat a lot - we were thinking of just giving her a little off our order

Kurby I never budget a cent for food at WDW,I do the regular DP, Call 2 find out how much more it will cost you a day for your family, with the plan you dont have 2 worry about a thing! If your daughter is not a big eater thats fine but the advantage of the Plan U can do some Character meals with her she will get her own snack credits that are easily used for a light breakfast, you can get fruit&pastries all sorts of stuff!I have a 4 yr old son and we have been doing the plan for years and it helps him 2 get 2 see all the characters without the waiting in line. I dont think the Regular DP will cost you $150 a day and on top of it all you dont have to worry about cost!

the regular dp is 1 ts and 1 cs right?

we'd still have to pay oop for our second ts

An average TS meal for us at lunch is $75 and that's if DS orders off the kids menu. For dinner, it's around $100-$125, but can go as high as $200, depending on the restaurant.

Since you're staying onsite and plan to eat 2 TS per day, you really should consider the DP.

ok - so if dd stays with dh's aunt (or at least is on her reservation) and we just get the dddp for us can we give her some of our food?

i know we'll have to pay oop for her at the buffets but what about the ts meals?

or if we are only having 2 meals a day can we use the 3rd credit from both dh and mine to pay for dd's meals?

I wish WDW would have a DP that had 2 TS & 1 CS that would be Perfect.I think that you should call WDW & see how much it would be for you to add the Regular DP then ask how much more would it be to have the Deluxe DP. The way for you guys to go may be the deluxe,I have always wanted 2 do the Deluxe but never have. I feel like I would have 2 use my 3 credits a day as TS and that would take up 2 much park time. With the Deluxe Plan you will get 3 credits a day and you can choose 2 use them any way you like, you can use them as Counter Service Credits as well, the DP is the way 2 go in my opinion its just easy & It pays for itself when you go 2 places like Lecelliar a steak is around 35 bucks dessert 7 smoothies 5 the plan has paid for itself n that one meal ,it just gives you the freedom 2 order and not have 2 worry about going over your budget, the DP makes the vacation feel all inclusive.

PS make sure that you make your ADR'S and if you want go to allears dot net and check out menus & prices this will just give you an idea of what may be the best thing for you&your family.

I'd say add a dining plan. I'm trying the DxDP for the 1st time because I love TS and I can't stand to wait in line and search for a table at CS.
