DTwin will be trying the now-it-seems-infamous Earl of Sandwhich during our upcoming trip.

I've heard nothing but raving positive reviews of this little DTD eatery.

So, I'm curious, what's the hype? What's your favorite thing to order there? What's good?
I'm really looking forward to eating here ( I just hope it's not over rated!)

:listen:

I got the Full Montague, chips, and a water...the sammy was awesome. Wish I could remember what all was on it... :)

We were there last week and had the Full Montagu, the All American, Earl's Club and my DS had the Pizza Sandwich. Everyone loved their sandwiches and the cookies were great too! We will definately go there again.

Hey, it's a sandwich shop. If you have transport, go to Publix (behind Premium Outlet) and order a sub there. Cheaper, larger and for the most part, better tasting.

Full Montagu, Pizza Sub and I am not ashamed to admit that the kids PBJ is UNFRIGGIN believable :thumbsup2 Oh, and get a ginger Molasses(sp?) cookie to round it out. It is unbelievably good.

By far and away the best sandwich shop on the PLANET!!!!!!!!

The sandwiches are put into one of those(can't think of the name, it's late) double sided griddle, waffle iron type things, flattened, toasted (slighlty) the meat is warm and the cheese melted. I am assuming they do this with all their sandwiches as we were not expecting it and were pleasantly surprised.

I had the roast beef & cheddar, DH had the meatball, DS had some type of chicken and DD had plain turkey.

We had sodas, chips and a yummy brownie. I am fairly certain this meal costs us approx. $35 which isn't bad for a family of 4 at Disney and we thought it was yummy, freshly prepared and didn't taste like it came off an assembly line.

We are planning on visiting again on our next trip.

The sandwiches at Earls are toasted, like a Panini, not like a normal sub. I doubt there is any comparison.

I had the roast beef sandwich and was expecting pretty much a standard sandwich, I had very low expectations despite the reviews. How good can a sandwich be...wow was I wrong, it was amazing, the best i've had in my life by a mile.

I think I usually get the Scudetto (sp?), DW usually gets the Florintine, and DS gets the Pizza Sandwhich.

We ate there a couple of weeks ago for the first time. The sandwiches were really good. DH and DD had the roast beef and cheddar. Other DD had PBJ. It even came toasted. I had a couple of bites. It was awesome. I wasn't feeling in a sandwich kinda mood, so I opted for the chicken caesar salad. They made it there fresh right in front of me. I have to say, it was the best chicken caesar salad I have ever had. It was very big and of course very fresh. The chicken in it was amazing. It was a very good meal. :)

I like the tomato soup. The menu of this sandwich shop if not for the picky eater. If you or any members of your family are picky eaters, be sure to order your sandwich exactly how you like it. For example, their turkey sandwich has a cranberrry dressing on top. There is no way my dh would eat it that way. So I order a turkey, lettuce, cheese, mayo sandwich for him. The bread is a roll.

Here is a link to the menu over on Deb's site

I have to tell you, I was born and raised in the Restaurant business, I have worked in all kind of establishments from 4 star up scale eateries to managing sub shops and the Earl of Sandwich is awesome, we eat there at least once every time we go. There is no comparison between them and a everyday sub.
Hope you enjoy

Dave

When we go we usually order The Original and Cannonballs. Both are exceptional sandwiches and the prices are good too.

I special order chicken and cheddar cheese - and it is soooo good! I love it and can't wait until saturday to have it again! And at night they have baked potatos for .99 What a bargain for Disney!

We've always avoided this place due to the lines - even though I've heard they're supposed to move pretty fast...

What time(s) of day do you all find them to be the least busy?

TIA!

Oh, so they're like Panini's? I think that's what a panini is, when they toast it on those grills like that.

Um, the browines sound so good right now (but then again I am starving!).

I saw a couple people write about the "pizza sub"...What's that? Sounds great!

Ooh! Salads! I wouldn't even think to get salads there but I am a sucker for salads, so now I might consider that as well!
