What do you drive with 4 children?

Oh yes the post from rjan67 reminded me. If you have a kid in a booster seat with the suburban that has a 60/40 middle split bench you will need to put the booster behind the passenger front seat because that seat needs to eather fold down or tilt then slide forward so you can get to the back row. Not the easiest to get back there but better than the astro with 8 seats. They only have 1 sliding door so clipping the back row and behind the driver middle bench can be a chore. I'm not tring to discourage you from getting these just tring to inform you so you can look at these possible problems when you go truck lookin.

Also

My 2001 astro gets 18 to 20 mpg on the hwy doing 70mph. Our 2004 Subruban gets approx 15 mpg doing 70 mpg. Astro towing 5500 lbs get 10.5 mpg average and the suburban gets around 12 mpg towing the same trailer. Suburban can tow way more is more comfortable and drives like a caddy. Oh Suburban has 4 wheel drive and Yukons have awd. Awd get worse gas milage sence you cant shut off the front drivetrain. 2 wheel drive of coarse are the same.

oh, that reminds me. I do have the extended length SUV. I could not live with out it. I think we can fit 4 large suit cases in the back. You can take the seats out and it has amazing room! We have been able to bring home furnitrue from Costco! Take out all the seats and we are ready to bring home a sofa.(lol)

My mini van had very little space behind the back seat. I don't know if mini vans come with extended length know a days.

mini-van with the integrated car seats. Loved them.
:thumbsup2We had a Dodge with those and just loved them.
Congrats on your expected addition. We drive a Ford extend van (had to upgrade before child number 7 last year), before that we used to drive a Dodge Caravan.. I found that I prefer to seperate the car seats since little one's can be mischevious. I place the youngest in the seat behind me and the next youngest in the next row.

Suburban!!! I love mine. We have all bucket seats, which is great so that the kiddies don't fight, (but we can't take any other passengers). We have two boosters in the back and two car seats that turn into boosters in the middle.

We had a Pontiac Montana before, but with the Suburban I can fit two hockey bags, two skating bags and groceries all in the back!!!!!

One of my girlfriends has an Expedition and she loves hers too.

We are driving down in October with a travel trailer.

Congrats on the new little one to come!! Four is a great number!!

This is me as well. The Montana fit us all (4 kids 4, 5, 7and 9), but I had no room for anything else, like groceries. I also like the peace of mind an SUV brings. It drops down to 4 cylinders when you are at a constant speed, like on the highway. It is almost as good on gas as the Montana was.

The Chevy traverse are awesome. Cheaper than the acadia but still the same size. You can get the bench seats 9seats 8) on the base model but with kids always going in the back I would upgrade to the buckets (seats 7).

We bought ours in April and best car we have ever had so far........gas mileage is better than most vans. I would check it out.
