Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Both parks open early at 8:30.
The Skyliner will likely start running between 7:15 - 7:30 but I would still try to be in line between 6:45 and 7:00 as you will want to be towards the front of the line. An 8:00AM ADR will be a little tight if the Skyliner does not start until 7:30 but you should be able to make it if you're towards the front of the line.

Thank you so much!!!!😊

Are buildings 1 and 10 still considered preferred with some standard rooms? Debating booking a DCL transfer and was just curious since the preferred rooms are not showing to book.

The map on page one of this thread is current. The majority of rooms in building 1 are either preferred rooms or, pool view rooms. Building 10 is 50% preferred rooms and 50% standard rooms.

If preferred rooms are not showing prices for your date(s) it is because they are fully booked.

Now I am curious if Touring Plans has fully updated the map on their site. It shows only 1 wing of building 1 and 10 being preferred (I'm not including the pool view rooms in building 1). The other wings on the map of this thread that are showing preferred, those rooms are listed as standard on TP's.

I am sure @byurick you will enjoy your first stay. @scrappinginontario does a great job of keeping this thread updated and I am sure you will find alot of helpful information here. If you have time please let us know how you enjoyed your first stay at Pop when you get home. I know I always enjoy reading posts about people's stays. Oh and feel free to ask any questions. Everyone here loves to help. Enjoy.

Hi!

I am SUPER EXCITED for my FIRST POP stay and to be heading back to Disney! Last time I was at WDW was in 2014!
I had a March 2020 trip planned but then COVID hit and I cancelled those plans. Life then hit with lots of bumps and I am finally able to plan a trip to head back. With the DisneyVisa offer, I was able to book a stay in August at POP with Free DIning. The offer is saving me 462.00 and I get an upgrade from 4 nights to 5 nights at the resort and 5 day tix with park hoppers which I had not bought when I originally booked for July back in January. So, by switching my trip to two- three weeks later, I am saving money, and staying longer! WIN-WIN!!

This will be my first trip with my childhood best friend! We are both Disney fans and I am surprising her with the trip. We have talked for years of going together but never have.
I booked preferred room since we are both in our early sixties, so I figure we will appreciate the shorter walk to our room at the end of each day in the parks.
I was thinking, I would try to request a room in the 60's section to celebrate our trip.

I am wondering what address you use to send your snail mail requests and how far ahead do you do so? My trip is August 16 - 21.

Great choice! PoP is a blast and we are here now. 60s is a great building, can be a bit loud on the pool view side if that is a concern. We sent out snail mail in 2 - 3 weeks advance and had great success. Simply use the address from the disney hotel page on their website and address it to Room Assignor. Enjoy!

Yes @mdsouth the info @ExcitedForWDW posted was excellent. Also the address can be found on the first page of this thread. Just remember to add Room Assigners to the address. And also remember to try and keep your requests to 2 or 3 and list them in the order you would prefer them. I have had many stays at Pop Century and all my rooms have been good but my October 2025 room was great. I hope my snail mail made the difference. I had to change my April 2026 trip to March because of needing to have surgery and arrive at Pop in 7 days in a preferred room. I was only able to send my snail mail out at the 11 day mark so not sure if it will get there before they assign my room. But I will be getting there early enough that I can see about possibly a room change. Hoping it all works out but regardless I will be at my favorite Disney resort for 6 nights so it will be good I know. I am sure you will enjoy your stay this summer. And keep following this thread. Everyone's info here is always helpful and @scrappinginontario does a great job keeping this thread updated.
