Right now I am the live - in program director at a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. My DH and I live in a basement apartment (room and board, utilities free) and I run the group home 24/7. It is awesome! I have worked for the company for 7 years (started when I was 18) as a relief and weekend staff and now I am the program director! The company is owned by really close friends of my family, my mom is one of my bosses (until August when she will go back to teaching), my sister used to be a program director, and my brother works as a relief/weekend staff. My uncle (my Dad's brother) is one of my residents (he had a surgery done when he was just born, and the anesthesia that they used caused brain damage). There are 4 guys who live in the group home that I am in charge of...all very high functioning developemental disabilites. We have a great time here and our company stresses that these guys have a "Family" like environment to live in. I love that! So right now I am a married 25 year old with 4 adult children! We will be here until after DH graduates from Law School (next Spring!!), passed the bar and established himself in his Dad's Law Firm!
Before that I have had many jobs!
-Worked in the ADR Deparment (American Deposit Receipts) for Wells Fargo bank. Wonderful and interesting job; basically I paid foreign stock dividends to our account holders.
-Worked as a Paralegal for an Attorney
-Worked hard at Inver Hills Community College and earned my 2 year Paralegal Degree
-Worked as a Hostess at Outback Steakhouse - totally cool, cause I could eat there cheaper than eating at McD's!
-Worked as a Relief Staff for Enrich (the group home company)
-Worked as a Sub. Paraprofessional at the local Middle School
-Worked as a receptionist/secretary in a Law Firm
-Worked as a Barista at a Coffee Shop
-Worked at the Local Golf Course as the only Female Pro Shop employee (at the time!)
-Worked as a Hostess at a Chinese Resturant....yuuummmm!
-My First Job ever was Housekeeping at the Country Inn Hotel...within 2-3 months, however, I was moved up to Front Desk. (This all when I was 16!) I quit this job, though after 6 months!
Well, that's it about me!!! Wow...that got long!
