What do you do with your 'shore bag' when at an excursion?

We plan on doing the dolphin experience while in Grand Cayman. :woohoo: Obviously I'm going to bring a tote (or backpack- not sure which one would work best for me) but I wonder what/where it will be when we are all in the water? I am also not sure what happens with the bag when we are at Castaway Cay... I plan on getting on a jetski  but of course I don't want to just leave my bag sitting on the shore. As the only adult in my party, I won't have anyone else to watch my things.

Thanks for any help!

That's a really good question, I didn't think of that. There will only be 2 of us on our trip so I'll be in the same situation. Curious to see how people handle this.

I don't know the setup at dolphin experience, but at Castaway Cay, there's a box (not secure) where you (and anyone else) can put your things while out on the skis.

We don't tend to bring anything of value when on excursions, or going to the beach - just our KTTW card, ID (driver's license), a little cash/credit card, my camera. The KTTW card/ID/cash/CC we put in our swimsuit pockets (all those things can get wet). My camera (waterproof) is always on my wrist. On the beach we just leave towels, sunscreen, maybe a book.

I'm not familiar with the location of this excursion, but if it is near the ship, maybe you could leave your things on the ship and when the excursion is done, go back and get everything you need :confused3 If it's too far away, though, it would probably be too much of a time killer. When we have rented bikes, we have left our stuff on or under the chairs we were using and never had a problem, but we don't leave anything of value at all.

I don't take anything that won't fit in my sea-safe box which I wear around my neck. My KTTW card, ID, a credit card and some cash and I'm good to go for the day.

dolphin excursion has lockers. I had other adults so we took turns watching the stuff at the beach. I have seen bags that have a lock that you can attach to your chair on line. I almost bought one. I herd about them on disboards

There are free lockers at the dolphin place. On castaway the only thing of value would be your phone and camera. I really think it is safe to leave.

For the dolphin swim - it isn't near the ship (we are taking transportation over to the location once on land) and we aren't allowed to wear anything (watches, lanyards, not even sunscreen) in the water, but afterwards we are heading over to the turtle farm so will need those items there. Glad to hear there's a locker! Do they lock? Or just close? So glad to hear about the box for bags. Is there a cast member that guards it? Thanks for all the replies so far!

We did this last May and there are lockers for your personal items, including shoes and clothing.

We are like you. We have all valuables in the water tight case. My husband ties it to his swim trunks and puts it inside the outside pocket that is either zippered or velcro closed.

Of course bumbershoot, sunscreen is in tow, as well. It's not valuable so we leave it on our chair in a small beach bag at CC. We've never had theft of sunscreen while getting a drink or lunch.

These are KYSS bags. I have a medium-sized one and love it. They won't stop a determined thief with a bolt cutter, but they do discourage the opportunistic grab & go thief.

I purchased a Kyss bag for my cruise last summer and loved it! I went ahead and purchased the large size and am glad I did but a lot of people will say the large is too large.

We went on a private excursion in Grand Cayman and were instructed to leave our bags on the beach and someone would watch over them. My sister and I decided to lock our bags around a tree just to make sure they didn't walk off.

Thank you for the link!! I'm checking them out now- sounds like my best option, especially for CC day.
