I always use mine up! Sometimes I can make different meals with leftover's. I have a friend that will not eat leftover's, she just throws it out! :confused3 Food is to expensive to do that. I find some things are better the next day!

Also when we go out to eat I always bring home what is left! I am not going to leave half of a prime rib on the plate.... noway, not happening!

Oh yeah one more thing, I may be small, but I sure can eat! :teeth:

I always use up my leftovers, usually take them for lunch the next day. I think it's wrong to waste food.

The only thing I have a hard time re-heating is steak. Never tastes right the second time but my SO likes it so he eats it, in the rare event that we have leftover steak.

We eat them for lunch. Sometimes I save dabs of stuff in the freezer to dump in the next time I make soup. I even boil bones for broth for that soup.

I only throw away what I know we won't eat.

We use most of our leftovers. I also have been know too make extra food to make sure we have leftovers. Some things are just better the next day. Especially mashed potatoes made into loaded potato cakes, yummy. I like to try to make something different out of leftovers like leftover roast beef into sheperds pie or leaftover grilled chicken sliced over salad.

I usually try to make extra when I make meals, so in our house there is no such thing as a leftover, its a made over meal!

Put them in the fridge for DH to eat. I am not a big leftover fan.

I always eat it for lunch the next day. I despise sandwiches so DH eats that and I eat last night's dinner. I always make just enough for lunch =)

I don't like leftovers. I can't stand eating something tomorrow that I ate today. I like to try alot of different foods.

My BF however doesn't mind them at all, so I usually pack them for his lunch :rotfl:

sometimes lefts over turn into another meal. Left over roasted chicken and broth becomes chicken soup or chicken and dumplings. Other times I take them for lunch the next day. If there are still left overs after a couple of days the dog eats well. I hate to throw food out. Too expensive. :confused3

Since it's just me & Dad, we usually have leftovers. Some things we'll eat for lunch--stuffed peppers for instance tastes better the second day! About the only thing I don't like leftover is spagetti. So I don't make extra of that.

When we have leftover steak, we slice it and heat it up in canned beef gravy. Then I'll cook some mashed potatoes and a veggie. The steak gets warm without drying out. Sometimes we stir fry some peppers and onions and serve it over rice. Really good, sometimes you don't even realize you're eating leftovers!

Someone, usually hubby, finishes them off. :)

With a 14 year old boy in the house, we rarely have leftovers, but when we do, I usually take them for lunch.

I try to make just what we wil eat sice I hate eating leftover food..I normally toss what we don't eat.

We have leftovers as a side dish to something else or I just eat it for lunch if it's just enough for one. I too hate eating sandwiches (from years & years of bringing my own lunch when I worked), so I'd prefer leftovers!

I dump all of them. I try not to over eat, so everything I do eat needs to be fresh and exactly what I'm craving. Leftovers rarely (to never) meet those requirements.

I can't imagine throwing away perfectly good food. Most of what I cook is from scratch, and I intentionally cook double portions of many things b/c I'm way too busy to create three or four dishes after work each day. Do you actually throw away, say, soup or spaghetti sauce?????

I can't imagine what some of you folks are cooking since many of the things I make are actually BETTER the second time around. There are a few things that aren't so great leftover -- broccoli, for example -- so I try to only cook enough of those items for one meal.

Esmeralda -- the key to reheating steak is to do it very slowly. I also think it works better in the oven rather than microwave.

We use up our leftovers as much as we can. I try to cook things that I can disguise the second time I serve them, so that we don't get bored with them. For example, tomorrow night we're having chili, but I'll freeze what we're not eating. Then I'll use the leftovers to make a southwester manicotti dish. When I roast a chicken, I chop the leftovers up and make a casserole. Leftover veggies aren't that great, so I freeze them and add them to soups.

Soup goes in the trash..but I only make small amounts so there is not much left. Spaghetti sauce I open the jar, scoop out what I need, and put the jar in the fridge...then end up not using it in a few days and tossing it. I don't like to repeat foods to often so if I use sauce on Monday, I am not making anything with sauce for at least a week or so after that...and I wouldn't use open leftover sauce that was there that long.
Chicken or Turkey I hate the next day...a day later and it starts tasting all gamey and just gross. When I buy chicken I package it in packs for the freezer with just thin sliced cutlets per bag so there won't be any left overs from that meal. Thanksgiving we eat out so I don't have to deal with all those leftovers!!
