What do you do with your cup collection?

Not sure where to ask this so as the refillable cups are given at the resorts thought this maybe the best place to put the question. After many visits over the past years I find that my family has accumulated a mass of refillable cups. With between three and six people going twice to three times a year for almost ten years we have a collection of over 75 cups. I did not count them all as I have them at work in the office and even given some anyway to people over the years. I have the older cups with the resorts name on them all they way to the ones now with the raid chips of course. But the question is what do you do with all of them? Do you store them in boxes, have them for daily use or a little of both? Running out of cabinet space and would like to know any creative ideas anyone has. Was thinking of drilling a hole in the bottom of the older round one and put a wire and lamp harp through it and make a small decorative lamp on a wood base. Any ideas out there?

Mug themed Christmas tree? Just hang them right on there like ornaments...Just kidding. We only have about four trips worth so far, so we are able to use them all right now for work coffee mugs, car drinks, etc. I am not really attached to them, so I don't plan on displaying them. I am planning to use the older ones as sand pails for my toddler class at the preschool when I get too many. They have destroyed every kind of pail I've given them so we should be able to use all the old ones as I rotate them out and we keep getting new ones. Good luck with your repurposing!

We keep one from each trip for coffee and drinks. We just get ride if the rest.

We only keep the mug if it's a new one we don't have. If you're going 2-3 times a year, you probably have a lot of the same ones so I'd start with cleaning out the duplicates.

Disney should put a recycle bin next to the magic express bus stop. They can melt them down and make new cups and save some cost.

I woukd donate any extra mugs to the local thrift shop. I'm sure some kids out there would love to have a Disney mug.

Given how cheap they have become I would just donate them somewhere. As a PP said, some kid might love it.

We still have 2 from our stay at the Contemporary in 1998. There are about 2x the capacity of the new ones and virtually indestructible. The absolute best insulated mug I've ever had.

I donated about 20 of them to the pre k 4 year old class at a nearby catholic school (my sister is the teacher so she knew they had been sterilzed in the dishwasher).

She repurposed them and uses them as "pots" to grow flowers for the various seasons and leave on the window ledge in class.

Great idea never thought anyone would want them but could see that now. Thanks!

When we have visitors that leave early in the morning, I always send them on their way with hot coffee in a Disney mug. I love sharing the Disney magic (and getting rid of the mugs). :rotfl:

We fill them with candy and a mcdonalds gift card at Christmas, stick a cute ribbon on them..and give to the homeless.

while i don't have a huge collection i do have a cabinent dedicated to my disney mugs. i use one every morning for coffee for my ride to work.

DITTO. Five trips over the years, three of us, fifteen mugs, and I'm the only coffee drinker. However, lids break, get lost, l got about eight left. Three more replacements coming in less than two weeks!!!!

I have three and my mom has one. I bought one resort (before RFID just to try out) and one waterpark mug (bought it because I like that size and style). The other two were RFID mugs included with a package stay.

I keep one at work just as an extra cup.

My water park one I use for a water mug at home.

Then there's my mom's and my extra that just kind of hang out.

I don't tend to buy them as they are not a value for me, so I doubt I will get any more, but I too am kind of trying to figure out what to do with the extras.

Thinking I may offer them up at work (there are a few other Disney fans).

I just can't imagine having a cupboard full. (however let's talk about the hundreds of cups my step dad has kept from the Sooners games he's attended. He won't let them go) LOL
