What do you do with people that cut in line to meet up with group?

...say the people who cut in line and want to blame it on the people doing the right thing...

There is a difference between being disgusted by reading the posts of bold line cutters-
recognizing that some of this mess is literally planned in advance
(brucerobo "... I think my family comes first...") which is distasteful at best
and displays a disturbing selfish lack of conscience at worst-

and

making a shouting scene and allowing it to ruin your day-
something that few people would do, even if they were in the 'right'.

I would not let anything ruin my day in any situation.
It's not worth getting in a state...
I think most line cutting can be discouraged by simply taking up all the space in your own width of the line and developing a sudden lack of understanding the English language or sudden deafness,
and quietly standing up to the line bullies- because that is what they are- bullies.

But all things being said, I am still a lady in the south and if I did nothing else,
I'd probably loudly chat with the offender using my very best southern manners,
"Why hello, darlin'... are you havin' a good time here in MK?
Oh, well, I see, well, of course you want to join your friends at the front, who wouldn't?
What were you doin' instead of standing in line, sugar?
Oh yes, I understand- y'all have much better things to do than stand in line behind little ole me...
well, that wouldn't have been my choice, but...

Y'all go on and have a real good time now... bless your little hearts!"

And then as they move up the line I'd have to add for good measure
"Y'all, we'll just have to look over them, some folks haven't got any home trainin'

So now you think I "cut" lines because I simply say that I don't think it is anyone's place to "enforce the rules." I'm strictly against "cutting" and would/have never do/done it myself. You realize that you're judging people via an internet message board, correct?

Perhaps, you should read the previous pages of this thread that suggest putting families members shoulder-to-shoulder or using wheelchairs to block anyone from coming through. When you do that, you are obviously annoyed and letting "it" get to you. What if this person you block happens to retaliate. Then, you have a real problem over something as simple as a couple additional minutes of waiting. My view is Disney needs to do a better job of enforcement rather than patrons.

Let Disney do their job and enjoy your vacation. That's all I'm saying, but apparently I'm an anarchist...

At Cedar Point, "Line jumping is cause for removal from the park." In my experience, that rule seems to keep everyone in check. I have a season pass and go regularly. I have not had anyone cut in line. The only "exception" if you want to call it that, is when a mom has to take a little one to the bathroom. The whole line knows because she wants to make it clear it is a potty break and not cutting in line!!!

Three weeks ago i was at DHS solo - waiting on TSM -60 minute wait - not too bad. About 30 minutes in some lady pushes her way past with little kid in tow saying "sorry we had a potty break!"

my question is when? I didn't see you go out and if youmwent out the FP I'm sure the CM would have helped you out on how to rejoin your family.

So she pushes her way up until people stop letting her by and she climbed UNDER the rail and squeezed through the tinker toy buckets....comes out near the glasses and grabs glasses and keeps on right up the line.....?
Of course I let her go by because whatever not my job.....but geez when the heck did she "leave" the line?

But the line cutters don't think it's a big deal at all.

Okay. I misread your post, then.

Just for the record, though, I do think line cutting is a problem, but I just don't think bystanders should get involved. Disney should enforce their rules. Reading your post, it is evident you do not choose to get involved over trivial matters.

True but considering that CMs try not to get involved, standing your ground may only result in your destroyed day and this is why majority of us just let it go and this is why cutters get bolder and bolder. Real problem is not a cutter but Disney who closes eyes on it.

Thats the truth. It would be great if everyone did the right thing and waited their turn, but the fact that Disney does absolutely nothing to enforce the policy is a big part of the problem. As other posters have mentioned about Cedar Point and other parks that do enforce line jumping policies, it does discourage that behavior. Heck I had a line cutter this past June at AK safari tell me "What are you kidding man, this is Disney world." As if that means it's ok to cut in line.

larryz, thank you for being the voiceof reason. Your comparison makes perfect sense - and demonstrates why line-cutting doesn't work and how negatively it can affect people further back in line who've waited their respective turns.

We also have CP Passes. In August, we were waiting in line for the Dodgems. I didn't see the couple line jump, but they must have joined up with parents right at the ride entrance. We all were seated in our cars and someone was talking to the operator, reporting the line jumping. The operator walked up to the couple in their cars and asked if they jumped the line. They said no. Then he asked if they joined the older couple in the line at the end. They said yes. He made them exit the cars and the ride and put 2 other people in the cars. The parents remained in the ride. I watched the guy who was removed while we were riding. He was LOSING it. Clearly in a rage. I was worried about how to get my kids off without going near him. His girlfriend (I assume) was trying to calm him down. When the ride ended, the operator had us stay in the cars a bit. Then came security, and they walked away with him. The parents quickly hopped out to follow. Don't know what happened after that, but it sure was an interesting experience. I'm glad CP takes it seriously. Yes, it would have been quicker for US to just let them ride. But I appreciate the effort they made. And I'm sure the two people who should have, and then, did, get on appreciated it!

Line jumpers drive me batty. They are usually the same ones that think its ok to cut you off on the highway without a blinker because THEY are in a hurry. Obviously the daddy with his 4 year old who took a potty break is one thing, but large groups of teens or adults...heck no. I just tell them to call ahead on their cell phone and let their "party" know they are in line and will meet them at the exit. Generally each teen has their cell out in hand anyway lol!

Think of it in terms of ride capacity.. they move thousands of people an hour, hundred of people in a few minutes. The worst case scenario is a whopping 30 seconds added to your life if they somehow managed to take up an entire boat at a boat ride.

Is 30 seconds of your life worth raising your blood pressure, getting irate, starting a war of words, shouting across a line, a possible physical confrontation, escalation, stress, etc... instead of just rolling your eyes and knowing that person is a d-bag but life is full of them and you'll have a good time regardless?
