What do you do with 2 pts?

Hi all, we can't wait to hear our first welcome home this June!

We purchased 70 pts resale that had all of 2006 pts. We only purchased 70 pts because we plan on going every other year as we have a Starwood time share in Orlando for every other year. So we made our fist ressies 5 nights in OKW & 3 nights BWV.

This left 2 pts & we will not be back to WDW until 2009 so they will have expired. I know it is only 2 pts, but can I put it towards anything? Does anyone ever need 2 pts that I could give them w/o it being a hassle? I just hate to waste anything!!!!!

I once needed five points to complete a reservation. Try posting them on the rent and trade board for transfer if they are transferrable, heck, I would just give them away!

I am just like you and hate waste. I had six points in banked so I just gave them away so they would not be wasted. Look at the rent/trade board and see if someone needs a few points. You might even be able to sell them.

It is nice that you are looking for a home for them.

If these are current points I'd just bank them into your next Use Year. If you know you will not have a need for them next year (before they expire), then you could transfer them to another member (as long as they were not banked).

It sounds as though you may always have some extra points - you might want to consider adding a night to your stay - even if that means you'll need to borrow from the following Use Year.

No wrong answers, but there are several possibilities. By intending to go every other year, you lose some flexibility since banked points may not stretch until you want to go - especially since it sounds as though you have a few more points than you plan to actually use.

Regardless, it is a nice problem to have!

Yes..people sometimes need 2 pts. I need 2 pts, but I need them to be 2007 UY and at BCV. You can always try the Rent/Trade Boards or bank like the others suggested.

But do they stay points for whatever year they were for the first person? Or can they be banked after they are transferred?

One reservation I needed just ONE point. Instead I booked a night with cash and banked the rest of my points.

Transferred points at supposed to retain their original Home Resort status and Use Year. Transferred points may be banked though.

I saw a poor guy who needed 1 point on the rent/trade board just last month. If that's the case, I am sure you could work out a deal where if they only need 1 point, they'd be willing to buy both.

It's a shame there's not a way for everyone with a couple points left over to combine them and donate to a charity like Dream Come True. Come on DVC work with us here!
