I run into this alot because people mispronounce my name too, but it's not that big a deal to me..
My name is Lori - not Laurie.
Our last name is Spaeth, pronounced with a long A, nobody gets it right.
In my kids elementary school, the secretary would always say "Hi Mrs. Space".
Now in junior high, they say my DD's last name as if it were spelled this way "Speeth".
We just can't win....sometimes I wish I could just go back to and give my kids my maiden name : Murphy - can't go wrong with that one
When I give a customer back their charge card, I always thank them by Mr/Ms/Mrs last name and if I mispronounce it, I apologize and ask them for the correct pronounciation, people really seem to appreciate that and I like to get it right.
