Oh, I know, my friend has a 500 square foot condo on LI. He spent around $350K on this place, and its not that nice.
My partners Sister and Brother-in-law are somewhat of snobs and they think an address is everything, so they bought a condo in NYC based on the address. Their 374 square foot condo was so small, and the price was close to what most dream to have in retirement savings.
You'd be surprised how much a simple address can go to people's heads. If I had a Manhattan address I'd probably be announcing it to the world for the first 2 years. My friend Jeffrey has lived there for a little over a year, and you can tell he's proud of it even though he tries to hold back his enthusiasm when he brings it up.

The most expensive homes here in Columbus go up to about 2 million dollars, but there are only a small handful of these types of homes in Columbus "proper". These homes are hu-mon-gous! A few of them are over 8000 square feet. A 2-million dollar condo in Manhattan is going to be relatively nice, but it'll still only going to get you around 800-900 square feet. To own anything nice over 1000 square feet you'll be paying at least 3 million buckaroos. I knew there was a reason I watched HGTV.

Money "ain't no-thang but a chicken wing" in Manhattan. It was kind of odd seeing early 20-somethings wearing clothes that probably cost more than my car.
