Pop a few Xanax....next thing I know, it's time to go home.
Seriously, I take a walk....even if it's to the bathroom. I'm lucky that I can have my headphones on all day, so I stream some audio online or listen to my iPod. I'll check my private e-mail - I keep the DIS open and take little breaks to post. I just try and keep myself entertained to make time go by faster.
I try to get near a window, even if it's just for a few minutes. Sunshine has an antidepressant effect.
Grab an ice water, chat with a friend, count your blessings.
At my work, I deal with death all day. I've found all these things to be helpful. If I grabbed a candy bar or a soda every time I felt down, I'd weigh 400 pounds!
My dbf is a web designer for porn sites and everytime I see a site, I always think, "I wonder if that's one of his sites?" Kinda ruins it for me. Not to mention I'm at work.
Thanks for the great ideas, everyone. I've decided to take a walk down the street to Ben & Jerry's. My dd is at her father's house until Sunday. This will be the longest I've been away from her since her birth and I'm very sad about it.
Accept the fact that you have to work...and make plans to do something fun after work. Maybe call a friend and go to dinner at your favourite restaurant, etc.
Honestly when I'm in a bad mood at work I go to the vending machine get anything with chocolate in it and a soda. I go to my desk and bring up www.allearsnet.com, click on Accomodations (sp?) at the top, down on the left hand side under each resort is a slide show with 50-100 pictures of the resort. Watching this with my snack always put me in a better mood.
