I am just throwing that question out because I want to eat... I am not hungry I just want to eat. I just put mint gum in my mouth and went to check out the boards but what do you guys do????:confused:
 
I eat. I eat some protein and fat usually. I try to keep low carb tuna salad made and ready in the fridge. I also cook up bacon and have that ready in the fridge, too.

When I want to eat, I eat. I just don't want to eat as often as I used to :)
 
If I am wanting to eat just for the sake of eating then I either brush my teeth (because who wants to eat with that taste in your mouth?), drink water, go outside and walk around, exercise, go to WISH, look in the mirror or weigh myself (LOL), or have something low in fat to satisfy me. I've done a combination of both of the above posts. Sometimes I just go ahead and have a snack but usually not. I am on a misson to reach my goal for the April 1st challenge so my normal practice is to pop a piece of Speariment Trident sugarless gum in my mouth and grab a litre of water and drink it.

I also have this little "thing" that really supresses my appetite and if nothing else distracts me so I don't think about food. I try on clothes in my closet and see how I am progressing. Sometimes DH and I do this together and it's fun! Once I am finished trying on stuff I haven't worn for almost a decade, I am usually motivated enough to put off eating.

Another little trick I do is tell myself (if the hunger occurs at night after dinner and dessert) is that I will be eating again in just a few hours for breakfast and then I promise myself I'll make my fav SBD breakfast (2 scrambled eggs with cheese, 2 sausage patties and 1/2 bowl of whole wheat flakes sweetened with splenda - yummy!) and that's worth waiting a few hours to have.

My ideas are simliar to those written already...I have to say though simply get your mind off of it in general.....is good advice..
Brushing your teeth is definitely a good one. And I read somewhere that your body may confuse hunger with being thirsty, So I usually drink water and if I still feel hungry after that (usually not) then I eat something.

My newest "trick" is to brush my teeth. I often brush my teeth right after dinner so I won't snack before bed time. I also drink water, have some gum or snack on carrots or celery.
 
Thank you guys... I never thought of brushing my teeth, I hate the taste of food after I brush so that will work great for me. I am 10 lbs away from my goal weight and they are the most stubborn 10 lbs I have ever met (and beleive me I have met ALOT of 10 lbs). I always eat when my 2yr DD is napping and 4 yr DD is resting with blanket and and TV and 7 yr DD is still at school, I am not hungry but I just eat and eat.
