We only have a three hour trip by air, but that sometimes seems to take forever!! What do you do to pass the time away while flying?? :bounce:

I like to read a good book, but I find it hard to concentrate.

I take a book , too. Take a deck of cards, you can play solitaire or for two you can play cribbage.

I like to watch the take off & landing. The rest of the time I read a book or go over my PassPorter. That sometimes starts a conversation with those around me.:earsboy: The only time I seem to fly nowadays is to WDW!

I like to look out from the window and watch the take off and landing. I also like to watch the climb, looking out over the land as it slowly gets smaller and smaller, trying to figure out what is down there. Once at a cruising elevation, I just relax in my seat and try to sleep! ( I usually catch red-eyes or early morning flights) I keep it a light sleep so I don't miss the complimentary beverage and snack...er...bag of 4 peanuts. :)

I love to sleep but unless my DD sleeps then I am awake....so I read. or play games with her.

I bought new GameBoy games for my DS's, and I bought the hand-held version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" for my DH and I to pass between ourselves. It worked out great, took our minds off the traveling time!

My teens all bring their walkmen and cd's. A month or so before we travel, I put aside all my magazines (I get a lot!) and carry them on board and read them. I take them to the hotel and usually leave them there so I don't have to lug them back home (more room for souvenirs!)

I brought my Birnbaum and Rita Aero books and read, read, read. Also hand held games like Yahtzee, casino. There's nothing better than knowing you're going to land in Orlando.

This will be my first trip in 5 years without children to entertain on the plane. With my DS, I would bring a coloring book and crayons(Disney of course!), sticker books, a portable CD player with his favorite music, and a little snack. The 2-21/2 hours didn't really seem that long. This year, I think I will take your magazine advice and bring music for me!

I like to read a good book. For our trip last Feb., I saved the newest Harry Potter book, and found both the flight down and back to be too short - LOL! My kids are teens now, so they choose what they want to do. My sons have started a new 'tradition' and stay up all night the night before leaving. Then they sleep on the plane. Personally, I think it's ridiculous, but they think it's cool. I'll be soooo glad when they outgrow this.....
