What do you do to make your resort room nicer

I'm in the nothing category, but reading through this thread there are a few ideas I would consider (except the candle, open flame sounds like a big no-no)

I agree. And they are now saying the scented room sprays are horribly unhealthy. You are just breathing in scented chemicals. Kind of inconsiderate of the guests who have the room after you too. Please don't yell just my opinion.

COFFEE! We travel light, but staying in dvc means we bring our own coffee and filters so we can make delicious coffee every morning. Otherwise enjoy the parks and resorts which are beautifully themed, including pop!

I haven't read all the other suggestions, but I can tell you what we bring. We stay at POR, which is decent sized for the three of us, but I try not to bring lot of extra "big" stuff so the room doesn't get too cluttered.
We DO bring snacks as well as light breakfast food and a few gallon jugs of water that we use to refill our smaller water bottle. I brought dish soap and a washcloth on our first trip, but last time I just brought enough plastic knives to put peanut butter (in single serve pkgs) on my bagel every morning and then pitched them, it was easier. So we have our food bag - I take everything out of original packaging and put it into gallon zip loc bags, or else condense however possible (I combined three boxes of poptarts into two by squeezing them in, didn't hurt them and saved room) - and a few styrofoam plates that we just reuse, as they generally just have some crumbs on them and aren't really "dirty". And a roll of paper towels - we bring one of these in the car with us whenever we travel on long trips anyway because you just never know when you need it! I bring a laundry bag that I hang from the closet rod and put the dirty clothes in as we go, and then I roll all our outfits and stack them on the shelf above. Also I always make sure to bring along clothespins to hang wet swimwear from the line in the shower. A power strip for charging multiple phones and ipads (we usually travel with three of them) and headphones or earbuds since we spend a lot of downtime in our room and we all tend to watch different things on our ipads! And I like to travel with ziplocs of every size too, another thing that I've found so many uses for. I guess nothing particularly unusual earth shattering or specifically "Disney" there, really!

Silly, but I like bringing my own pillow case which is the one I use at home. I have a bit of trouble sleeping and that really helps. We use to do Owner's Locker and that was wonderful. Now I like to bring a collapsible small hamper, some type of container for change etc, liquid hand soap and Lysol wipes. I have been keeping a handwritten travel journal for years. I need a new one finally and always bring it with us so I can write while on vacation. It has a line for what we did, who we met, memorable meals/purchases etc. If I wait until I come home I always forget, don't want to transfer my notes etc. I need to read through this thread and mind me what else belongs on that list.

I like soft beds so I called Housekeeping for an extra couple of blankets which I put under the sheets on my bed at the Values to make it softer and it worked.

Other than that, I don't bring much to make the room comfier. I do bring a small foldable box to toss any change, receipts, ect. into to contain that clutter.

I did the pop up/folding hamper on our last family Disney vacation ten years ago. Thanks for this reminder, and will definitely have that on my "to-pack list" for our upcoming trip!

Command hooks. Good for coats, hanging organizers, towels, etc. Easy to remove.

Without having read anything, a power strip and/or outlet for charging all the devices. Preferably one that also has USB ports as well.

Honestly? Nothing. I find the rooms comfortable as they are, whether it be our stays at mods or DVC. The less stuff I need to lug with me when I fly the better. The rooms have coffee machines, not certain why you need to bring your own coffee pot?

This was my thought. If I don't find a resort's rooms "nice" I don't stay there. And that isn't a problem I've had on WDW property.

For my stays at Pop, I think my small Black & Decker travel single cup coffee maker is worth WAY more than the $15 or so I paid for it. I make good espresso ground coffee in the mornings (can't stand Disney coffee, and I like to relax in bed with it first thing in the morning on vacation). I order disposable coffee cups with lids.

I've also brought a travel candle sometimes (it's in a tin, and no I wouldn't ever put it near anything flammable or leave it lit for long).

We order snacks, drinks, wine & beer for the room (next time I'm using Safeway; they are cheaper than GG). For stays at value resorts, a wine glass is a nice idea! I'm going to do that next trip! Nice to relax with some wine, cheese & crackers in the evening.

I take a toothbrush holder that has suction cups on it and spots for 4 toothbrushes. I can't stand having cups around the sink holding each toothbrush, even worse if they get knocked over onto the floor. And we don't like the way the toothbrushes smell when using travelcases for them, almost a musty smell after a few days.

Also extra hangers, always need more than the 5 or so that are provided.

Poo Pourri - a life saver when sharing a small area.

throw blanket/s for napping :)

travel candle and matches

Cottonelle wipes

assorted snacks, like cereal bars

electric kettle (it's small)
my own tea and coffee + paper mugs

ipod with Disney music to play through the little stereo/alarm clock/docking station (not sure the rooms still have these?)
Candles are not permitted.

I always wrap up our toothbrushes in tissues to keep them clean! I couldn't think of leaving them on the counter - if the housekeeper had to spray something to clean the mirror it would get on them!

We also bring a bunch of hangers as well! I save the thin metal ones from dry cleaning. I hang up all our tops and my dresses (I wear sundresses almost daily at Disney).

We also bring a pop up hamper. Our room is always very tidy.

Housekeeping will bring you more hangers if you call and ask for them.

We always take liquid soap too, tp, paper towels, lysol, toothbrush protectors, a must is our own pillows!
So do all of the rooms have keurigs except dvc? I'm thinking we'll bring our Newmans Own k cups if so.

No keurigs. They have "pod" coffee makers.

When I first started using the shoe organizer, I was constantly annoyed by the fact that it was too long (when hung in the closet)and the bottom row would fold over. I also didn't like it over the hangar bar because it was taking up too much room. So, I have cut the bottom row off and since the value hotels have wire shelves, I attached two carabineer clips instead of the hooks that came with it. It now hangs nicely at the back wall of the closet. It is a "must have" when we travel.

On top of the many great suggestions offered here, I always make sure to bring an HDMI cord and adapter so we can hook up our iPad to the television and stream Netflix or iTunes movies. I don't care for "real" tv while on vacation.

I always bring: a couple wire hangers, charging devices, food/snacks from home (we get napkins from the food court to keep in the room), small fan and white noise machine (I need both!), a plastic dirty clothes bag, extra Publix/plastic grocery bags (you never know when you'll need one), wipes for door handles/phone/remote.
