What do you do to get ready?

After you've booked, made dining reservations, planned the trip perfectly, and you're just waiting for the day to arrive, what do you do in anticipation of the trip?

I do several things.

1. I have a notebook where I keep everything from reservations, menus, Itineraries, schedules, etc. After booking, I update my notebook for the current trip.

2. I also do a countdown for my kids starting at 50 days. We've done photos and chains for a countdown before.

3. I create window decorations for our resort window.

4. I make tip envelopes for the restaurants and mousekeeping.

5. I've used the Creative Disigns board here to help me make shirts for my boys.

6. I pre-order my photopass CD to get the discount.

This time, I am adding to my list. Instead of buying an autograph book when we get there, I am making one. I got my materials today and am extremely excited about it. And I am buying new Disney pajamas for the boys for each night of the trip, so looking for matching pajamas is helping to pass the time. I have 64 more days to pass... :cool1:

So, what do you do to pass the time until your trip gets here? I would love to hear some new ideas that I might could try! Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Ok people passed this topic up :(

I mainly just obsess over my upcoming trip. We start shopping for the clothes we will wear and put those away. This year I started even before we made plans and shopped at Disney for great discounts over Christmas so that we didn't spend so much on souveniers while we are down there.

My husband will only eat fish or vegetarian style food, so I start looking at QS places that we can eat that have a good variety for all of us. Our first trip was last May and we had no idea of where to go dispite my reading every food topic! So this year I plan to make a list of exactly the great places we can and should dine at-I LOVE the threads on DIS where people show their food pics! SO helpful!

I think I will also make the envelopes before we go for all our tips, last year we just fumbled around about who should get what and where to leave things.

It'll be another surprise trip for the kids so no countdowns for them~however I may start to leave little surprises around the house so that they can catch on and then figure out a good surprise to tell them. Last year they didn't realize we were going to Disney til the video came on the ME bus lol! They just assumed it was to get to another airport :P

I would love to hear about other peoples planning and time passing! This waiting is killing me!

I do pretty much the same... binder, countdown, shirts. This time I'm making personalized itineraries. One for myself (very detailed) and one for my MIL (not so detailed)... just so she has an idea of what's going on each day. I pre-order my tickets, photopass & TIW card. I pack about a month before we leave just to make sure I don't forget anything. I also make bows for my daughter so they match every outfit each day.

We also do Disney movie nights... every other Friday or so. It helps get in the spirit and passes the time :)
