I was wondering if you guys have any ideas for things to do before your trip... like watch alot of disney movies, throw a disney party? care to share what you all do? :) :goodvibes

Bust out the pictures from a prior Disney Trip (if applicable) go over Disney Maps (if you have some), watch the Disney planning DVD and ..... get pumped!

We watch the disney planning DVD, watch travel channel specials on disney, watch disney movies, take out maps and plan possible routes for each park, look at allears and check out the menus and pick out possible items to order. Listen to our Disney Cds in the car with all the ride themes.

jump up and down at the mention of the D word.Drive all my friends and work mates mad with my hourly countdown.Fret about wearing shorts.Jump up and down a bit more.Go over all the ressies and the itinary.......then jump up and down!

In order, we do they following immediately before our WDW trips . . .

1) Go to bank and get cash.
2) Verify our ADR's.
3) Call credit card company and verify open credit amount for charges.
4) Double-check packing list to make sure we will pack the proper clothes.
5) Call 2nd credit card to verify balance, in case we overspend 1st card.
6) Verify all resort ressies, flight ressies, and transportation ressies.
7) Go to bank and get more cash.

Nothing gets me more psyched than listening to park music over and over. Thankfully, we have lots!

We pack.
But seriously, Discovery channel has a series of shows about Disney. Parks, the history of WDW, special events, such as Christmas. All worth seeing. I was amazed when my sis who lives in Chicago said she was unaware that Discovery had such specials. I wonder if they are only showed here in Florida? Coals to Newcastle anyone?

we even did a newsletter monthly on our last family trip- it was like 8 pages long each time and each family member participated by providing a section! It was a great way to get a large group excited and in the 'know' we highlighted different restaurants we had ADRs for, included photos, the itenerary, hidden mickeys info etc. I can send anyone copies for idea/examples if you wanT !

:cool1:
make lists!! packing lists.....etc.

redo my itenerary a billion times!

shop----for backpack stuff, clothes, shoes...especially disney tanks etc.

watch disney shows on tv- the disney related shows of the week website is great!

watch the planning dvd

look through old trip scrapbooks

read trip reports

visit the disney store!

watch old disney movies

Sleep as much as possible, but I'm usually too excited to do much of that, so I lay awake going through our first hours at Disney. :cool1:

This trip we are going with non-family so I have decided to have a dinner for them the night before we leave for the airport. I have a Disney cookbook and then, too, I have collected many recipes from different Disney sites and from previous trips. I have made up some small backpacks with various things like snacks, batteries for their CD players and MP3 players, playing cards and a disposable camera and other essentials. These I will give them after dinner. Then I plan to have them all watch the Planning Video one more time and then decide which rides they want to do....Figure this will take a couple hours or so!!!! :rotfl: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Yeah I'm obsessed ,but I have to thoroughly clean my house... I hate coming home knowing it's waiting for me! :sunny: :guilty:

We watch our videos from previous trips. Also shows from Travel Channel and Food Network I taped. And of course, looking at our hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures. :goodvibes

I clean my house thoroughly, check, check and double check my list and to make sure I have my tickets, money and passport. I must check these 20 times!! LOL :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm with you. That is exactly what I do. Then, the night before we leave after all my checking is done we get ready to rest. Did you notice I said rest? We don't even go to bed. We just sit in the Lazy Boys because we can never go to sleep the night before.

Dh and I just had a good laugh over this. This will so be us when we go in Nov.!

We do a lot of things already mentioned!!! :teeth:

Like.......

Watch the planning DVD.

Watch the specials on Travel channel, Food Network & Discovery channel.

Check over my lists of things to do before we leave. Check my packing lists.

Check the backpacks for the plane ride. Check our ressies & ADRs.

Check the limit on our debit cards and let the bank know we will be out of town so they don't think the cards were stolen!!! ;) :teeth:

Have a Disney themed party with pizza & a movie the night before leaving, we always do this.

Clean the house. And do laundry.

Pack more things we probably won't need.

If we can, we try to get as mich sleep as possible the night before (this is difficult as the excitement has already kicked in). Go to work and/or finish getting ready for the trip (even though everything had been packed and ready 2 weeks previously). Then, around midnight, we jump in the car and drive through the night. Hey, we wouldn't get any sleep anyway, why not get there really early. After the first couple of hours of driving, we take turns driving and napping and get to WDW ready for lunch and a long nap in WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
