I LOVE non-park days :) Don't get me wrong, I also love park days, but there is nothing like taking a day off after a few days of park touring to do something relaxing and experience a different side of Disney magic.

The best non-park day we ever had we slept in, went to a breakfast ADR, went shopping/visiting the other WDW resorts, rented a golf cart at FW & explored, went to HDDR for dinner, and went back to our resort to relax & go to sleep early-a fantastic day :goodvibes

What do you like to do on your non-park days?

Our kids love to swim, so on our non park days we can usually be found at our resort's pool. This is a nice time for Mommy & Daddy to relax under an umbrella with a couple of drinks too!

My husband likes to take our off day to go to DHS and ride Star Tours multiple times and sometimes hop to Epcot to get his full of a Test Track.

I like a real day off. Sleep in as much as my 4 year old will, food court breakfast because we eat in the room before the parks, some laundry, and lots of pool time. We have a reservation at Ohana that night this year which should be great. We've only ever swam at POFQ but I'm thinking we might hop to POR to try out the pool just because we can! Love the days off!

For us it is usually pool, DTD and a resort restaurant. Sometimes we do Epcot or HS that morning to do Soarin or TSM. I know that's in a park but I hate to waste a FP!

As much as getting there is one of the worst things about WDW, we had a great time at Downtown Disney last trip.

Just spent a few hours wandering, checking out the stores, using CS credits at the (sadly gone) Pollo Campero and then spending a few hours at DisneyQuest. All topped off with an ADR at Raglan Road.

As we went in November, it must have been before the majority of the construction started. We drove over and parked close to the entrance without issue and didn't have to rely on the buses.

For our upcoming trip I have 3 full rest days built in plus two mornings of rest because we will be doing PM EMH.

For the full rest days I know we sleep in and my kids will sleep until 10 or 11. Do pool time and then I have a general plan of doing.....

1-ADR at Trail End's for dinner and hang at FW that night. Do the sing along, maybe a carriage ride. Watch the electric water pageant while there.

2- DTD and maybe DQ.

3- maybe an ADR on the Boardwalk and spend the evening there. Maybe put the kids back in the room and just SO and myself hanging out. We will play this last rest day by ear.

For the two rest mornings we will sleep in and do pool time. That's it.

We usually go to the pool or DTD or sometimes we'll go to another resort to eat & look around or we'll do other activities that Disney offers. This year we have two non park days. One day we plan on going horse back riding and doing the segway tour. The other day we plan on going to Sanaa to eat & to tour AKL, I've read it's beautiful. And of course we'll be taking our DD swimming too at our resort, but I think we'll pass on DTD this year because of all the construction mess.

My wife likes to go to the Disney store outlet at the Premier Outlet mall near WDW. My daughter and I like to play mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens and hang out at Stormalong Bay (we stay at the Beach Club). We also usually spend some time at Downtown Disney. We are going in November and are kind of hesitant about Downtown Disney with all the construction.

Sleep in a bit, then a late breakfast ADR (we usually eat quick breakfasts in our room before heading out for rope drop). Resort touring and perhaps DTD fill the rest of the day.

Sleep in, go to the pool. Usually a park in the late afternoon/evening, on an evening EMH day. We don't take a whole day usually as we only go for 3-4 days at a time.

We still usually end up in a park on our "non-park" day for an ADR or now to do the three fastpasses then head back to the resort. Otherwise we spend time at DTD or at the boardwalk

If we're at the parks with a free day and no real compulsion to go anywhere specific, DW and I usually take in a few hours at the resort pool and relax. She'll lay out and read, and I'll just swim around aimlessly or ride the slide repeatedly.

Once we're done with that, head to a dining reservation and/or go pin trading for a couple of hours.

If I get to pick, however, I always choose EPCOT for wandering without any kind of plan and pin trading.

Those are actually my absolute favorite days, and somehow, they feel more fulfilling to me in terms of park experience.

IKEA
Orlando Premium Outlets

Boardwalk (near Yacht and Beach Club Resorts)
Cocoa Beach (or drive to Kelly Park on the Indian River and watch dolphins)
CityWalk @ Universal Entrance
Mall @ Millenia
Holy Land Experience
Orlando Magic Basketball Game
ESPN Wide World of Sports

My most recent trip had a non park day at the beginning of our trip:
-We slept in at BLT, had a breakfast in the room, then did the monorail tour of the resorts, checked out the wedding planning place, had some lunch at the GFlo, hit up an audition, then spent the evening running around DTD.

Usually a park day we'll hit up a resort, shop or Disney quest or movie at DTD, spend some time by the pool, sleep in, have a nice breakfast at a resort location.

We don't have too many complete non-park days.

But we do divide our days sometimes so part of the day we go to DTD, or mini golf or just go swimming.

When it's me solo - I'll go swimming and do laundry, or go to DTD for a few hours or tour resorts for a few hours before going back to the park.

As we go for over 3 weeks we do have a few non park days. We lover to go to

Cinema at DTD and see a film that not out in UK yet.
Mall of Millenia (Cheesecake Factory)
Bonnet Creek pools and activities, although we usually swim every day
We also go to the water parks a lot, is that technically a park? Just spend a couple of hours especially at the end of the day. Can get on so many rides and not too hot.
We are going to St Petes Beach for 4 nights this year at beginning of holiday. I wonder if we will be itching to get to the parks.

I seem to have started to book FP+ for every day so far this year. We also have to fit in Universal, Seaworld, Aquatica, Discovery Cove, Legoland and Busch. So not many non park days this year.

We sleep in, go to the pool, have some drinks at the pool bar. Eat at our resort or one with some nearby entertainment or maybe off sight. It's just an easy relaxing day with no clock over our heads.
